as I was discussing with some others in the thread: NPCs & Enemies - Frost Mimic we realized that the tundra has an unfair advantage on the desert/jungle/ocean with it having the frozen chest mimic, so i was thinking about how it should have the biome mimic sprite since it's somewhat close to those in drops, but i figured that it would make more sense if the other biomes had mimics instead of the frozen chest mimic having the biome mimic sprite.
names are not entirely my thing so please, if you can think of something just send it
Here are what i think might fit for the new mimics!:
might update the thread with better ideas tomorrow, i feel like a couple of things can be improved but currently lacking the brain power to produce those ideas

1. starting with the Ocean
1.1 i'm feelin inspired by btd6 right now with their mermonkey so here's mystolen? idea about a trident
it's a normal spear with a blue-y sprite that shoots waves which increase in size the further they travel, the projectile life span is around a screen, the wave starts at around 0.5 player big and ends at around 4 players (those are not random numbers, trust me) this has general good crowd control (a nice thing for melee at this point, somewhat lacking the good crowd control it usually has without some of the harder to get options) by having high attack speed and high knockback (maybe scaling with the size?) but relatively lower base damage (low 40s)
1.2 we're lacking summoner options and we surprisingly have not much octopus themed things in terraria except the literal moonlord.
so, i'm thinking of an octopus summon that attacks by getting close to an enemy and attacking them through its tentacles with 3 pierce and high damage but low attack speed.
1.3the other mimics have some nice crowd control/support options for magic weaponsunless you're flower of frost and i think that can continue here
inspired by duke fishron how about we add a tornado staff/tome that just simply spawns a damaging tornado that sucks in enemies and does massive knockback
accessory: Air Bubble
effect: allows breathing underwater
combinations: Arctic Diving Gear + Air Bubble
= Terra Diving Gear.
effect: all of the effects combined

2. continuing with the Desert
2.1 there are quite a bit of solid items in the desert, but i think we're lacking more actually sand related items in the desert.
the Storm Bow, this bow turns wooden arrows into sand, with a base damage in the high 30s while also shooting in the high fast range, why so low? because sand gun is op. this is just a simple upgrade to scale into hardmode but hopefully not be too strong
2.2 melee weapons with magical abilities are overrated, let's do the opposite!
tome of storm is a weapon which shoots arrays of sand projectiles that take the shape of sharp objects, swords, shurikens, spears, etc.
2.3 weaker sand elemental as a summon.
if this idea is a little lame i'll reconsider
Accessory: incomplete, lacking an idea for an accessory currently.

3.01 give the jungle a second mimic in normal worlds
3.02 rework the jungle mimic to be a non-meme
3.03 buff the jungle mimic post plantera (or maybe post mechs with the "the jungle grows restless" message) and give it normal drops, in normal worlds it simply spawns post plantera unlike other mimics
or
