MST3K Revival

Things seem to be confirmed and thanks to their Kickstarter Joel Hodgson is bringing back a new iteration of the great movie riffing show that gave so much joy to so many over its ten seasons until it left the air waves in 1999. In the years since the departure of MST3k, the former members have continued to entertain audiences through the, now defunct, project of Cinematic Titanic with Trace Beaulieu, J. Elvis Weinstein, Frank Conniff and Mary Jo Pehl, as well as the the Mike, Kevin, and Bill fronted Rifftrax project.

The new MST3K is funded for several episodes and, should its stretch goal of $5,000,000 be reached (less than $400,000 short with a day to go as of the time of posting), will have a total of 12 episodes. The actress and nerd favorite Felicia Day will take on the role of the mad scientist; Jonah Ray, comedian and cohost of Chris Hardwick's Nerdist podcast, will be the new host of the show; and comedians Baron Vaughn and Hampton Yount will voice everyone's favorite riffing robots, Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot, respectively.

The new series is currently scheduled to hit the world in the coming year and promises to be, if nothing else, an interesting ride.

Feel free to discuss this up coming revival, pro or con, but please keep things polite and respectful.

UPDATE (2015/12/11 9:00 PM EST): With 4 hours to go on the kickstarter, the MST3K is $300,000+ over the $5,000,000 mark, so there will be a full 12 episodes coming.
