Hello again!
I’m worried about what. In the new update 1.4.0.3, it seems that the display of players has broken - when the distance is ~2000 ft, the character icon with the counter disappears. I attach screenshots of this bug.
..... Or is it still an unconsciously added feature?

Bugged feature. Why, then, was it normal before that the character's nickname was visible at any distance?
Check the change log please :/
Aded a config.json setting called "TeamNameplateDistance" that lets you reduce the distance at which team names are drawn, with the default being 2000. Reducing the number of Team Nameplates on screen in MP can improve performance, so this can be used as needed.

Checked.
Absolutely uncomfortable feature.

You can literally change the distance to whatever you want, including maximum.

We are getting performance concerns and one of the issues causing them were Team Nameplates. We've improved their performance, but as long as they are drawing on screen, they are taking some measurable amount of performance, and one way to improve that is to add a distance cap. A cap that is fully adjustable by the player to have no cap at all.
