Terrarian
So Terraria Switch has recently been announced, and being the Nintendo fan I am, am showing what I want to see exclusive to this installment of Terraria.

1. Controls

Terraria on consoles had a great control scheme in my opinion. Terraria Switch should have a good control scheme to feel smooth, unlike the 3ds, with bad controls.

Move: Left joystick on left Joycon
*Simple, smooth and easy

Jump: B button
* Good location IMO

Use item: ZL/ZR
* Similar to console controls

Switch item: L/R arrow buttons
* Different from console, but good IMO

Inventory: Y button
* A bit different from console, but still a good button location

Pause: +
* Very similar to PS4+PS3

Map: -
* Good location, I like this

Open/Cancel: A
* In the same location as O for PS4+PS3, and I liked that control.

Toss Item: L3 (press in left joystick)

Smart Cursor On/Off: R3

Overall, a polished set of controls are probably the defining aspects of the game. (3DS was bad because of controls)

2. Local Multiplayer

The Switch is all about being able to take it anywhere and play, or stay at home on the bigger screen. Local Multiplayer with other nearby people is a good idea IMO

On title screen:
Multiplayer --> Local Multiplayer --> Host Game/ Join Game

Also online play, where you can host a game for your friends to join. (Best for at home)

3. Touch controls

Personally I'm not too fond of the touch controls for 3DS and Mobile, but there are mobile/3ds fans out there. In the pause menu, select the new "Switch to touch controls' Button. This only works while the switch is out of the dock.

4. Leaderboard System

I thought the leaderboard System was a cool idea for the console edition, and I think it should return to the switch. (You must have a Nintendo account linked to see your position)

5. Exclusive Content

Exclusive content is the best way to get more buyers, because they want the new and exclusive stuff. For example: If I have Terraria on PS4, then why is there a point in buying X Box 1 Terraria? Let's say Terraria has exclusive Nintendo items to persuade more into buying it.

Now I have A LOT to suggest, so I will divide it into spoilers per franchise.

Plumber's Set switcher to red, as this is Nintendo and we don't need incognito blue.

I'll add more ideas for exclusive content in the future, but leave your ideas for exclusive content!

In addition to touch controls, how about pointer controls? The Joycon's motion sensors allow many games to utilize a pointer function like the Wii Remote. Being able to aim like this could be an interesting way to play the game.

Well, I'm a Pokemon fan above all else (if my profile pic didn't give it away), so I think I have some ideas to elaborate on your Pokemon content. Text block in 3, 2, 1, IMPACT!

Dive ball: Lapras is certainly an iconic 'mon and a good fit, but your "Ice Beam" idea was... vague. My idea is that it would act kind of like a fast-moving Vilethorn with less of an afterimage, doing very little damage, but doing it very fast. Maybe there's a way to scale that with your current weapons DPS? It would also significantly slow down any enemy it hit, and leave behind an ice crystal as long as the effect stayed, shattering upon the effect fading. If it hit a wall instead of an enemy, these crystals would act rather like the Corrupt/Crimson thorns do to the player, inflicting minimal damage and no knockback, just kind of annoying.
Master Ball: These 'mons are a bit less iconic, but certainly still fitting for this Pokeball. My ideas for their attack are as follows; Articuno's Blizzard would create a slowly-extending cloud of snow (roughly 3.5 blocks tall and starting at 7ish blocks long) that would act as an AOE with infinite piercing and the same effect as Lapras' Ice Beam. Zapdos' Thunder would be a near-instantaneous lightning bolt extending about a screen and a half above and below the cursor, stopping when it hits a solid block or a grounded enemy. Any flying enemies would get pierced. A few seconds after that, there would be a low-damage shockwave extending emitted from wherever the bolt stopped. And last but least complicated, Moltres' Fire Blast. This would essentially be an Inferno Fork shot with only five extended bits.
Ultra Ball: Basically a unicorn. I like it!
Starter Staff: Also great! Though, maybe make Bubblebeam essentially a Vilethorn minus going through blocks? Unless that's what you meant.
The three pets: Adorable! Although I feel Pikachu should get a mention. I'm not a big fan of him, but he is the mascot. I think a bottle of ketchup would an appropriate summoning item, and have him ride a surfboard for his flying animation.
Whew, that's a lot!`:confused: Anyway, hope you find this helpful, or at least inspiring.

I personally don't think we need all this extra Nintendo content. Terraria already has enough "Pretendo" items such as the Flower of Fire. Besides, a 1% drop chance from any monster seems uber-exploitable. I'm not against a little exclusive content, and I think it's a good idea to correct the Plumber and Hero outfits' colors. But as for the other stuff, maybe only a couple exclusive items; and they should drop from special exclusive enemies instead of inventory-cluttering crates.
EDIT: I agree with the first four points though.
