PC My game gets choppy whenever I jump or hold a torch in my hand.

CrimsonKyvern

Terrarian
My game's gets choppy whenever i jump or hold torch in my hand. I tried the following things:
  1. Changing my fps / opening vsync
  2. Changing frame skip settings
  3. Changing CPU cores
  4. Assigning high privilege to terraria
  5. Playing around with my nvidia settings
  6. Windows compatibility mode
  7. Changing Fullscreen mode to Windowed mode
In addition to these my fps is stable at 60 whenever game gets choppy.

Here is an example of it:

After a little bit of testing, I am sure that light sources such as torches make my game choppy even if my FPS is stable at 60. But I don't know how to fix it.

Try to switch lighting modes to something like retro
If this still isn't working you might need to look for other fixes online

Well, it's certainly better, but it still persists every so often. When I set my frame skip to off and close v-sync in the nvidia settings, my FPS is between 160 and 200. There are some FPS drops, but I don't think FPS is the problem, yet I don't know what the exact thing is causing this choppiness.

If it still doesn't work after absolutely everything, uninstall terraria, and reinstall it.
If this doesn't work, then I can't help you.

Yes, it still doesn't work. Thanks for the help though. The last time I played the game, there was a multicore lightning setting and it was running fine; it probably has to do with that.
