Terrarian
Terraria is a game with no story. Though it can be fun to make up lore for it. This is my idea of terraria lore. (feel free to post your ideas on this thread).

The moon lord is an ancient creature from a long dead species. A long time ago the moon lord threatened the lihzahrd race (the dominant species at the time). They moon lord was almost impervious to their weapons so they lured him into space until Then a mechanism in their temple created a 'shield' around the earth to keep any object moving below a certain speed from reaching the planet. The mechanism was powered by the power cells in the temple. When the player activates the golem much of the power is redirected to the golem and if the power is not returned in time, the shield shuts down. (this is why martian invasions trigger after the golem dies) The lunatic cultist is a rogue wizard who had a vision of the future coming of the moon lord and created a cult to stop him. The result of their work was a tablet that, if fueled by mana, would repel the moon lord. When the player arrives and kills the cult the lunatic cultist absorbs the tablet's repelling power as it is the only way he can stop the player from stopping the spell. When he dies four celestial factions land to attempt to kill the moon lord, who would threaten them after taking over earth. They use organic pillars as shields similar to the lihzahrd temple. when the pillars are destroyed the moon lord, warped by the conditions in space, descends. In his warped state the player can defeat him and save earth.

The legendary terra blade is a pure, uncorrupted sword, balanced by the flow of both dark and light energies inside it. It was once used by a hero a long time ago, but it was shattered into three pieces during battle. The energy spilled over the land and was lost. The pieces were claimed by swamp monsters. When the three pieces are combined with the swords of dark and light, the new curved blade gains its energy from those swords. The beam fired looks different to the sword, as it is the 'spirit' of the original terra blade being fired.

'Spirits' are energy-based organisms in terraria. They come in many varieties and can be of varying degrees of power. They survive by possessing dead beings or inanimate objects. The most common is the variety known commonly as the 'dungeon spirit'. These are fairly weak and usually possess skeletons of humans or other animals. They usually live in dark places, so are most often found underground. Because spirits have a human level of intelligence some, such as the infamous rune wizard, have mastered the art of magic. They are usually hostile to humans, but there are exceptions. Another variety known as the mimic spirit preys entirely on intelligent beings such as humans and lihzahrd. They will usually possess a chest and will stay motionless in caves for weeks on end until a spelunker tries to loot the chest and is eaten. Some mimics are so powerful the chest they inhabit begins to warp and become fleshy. these mimics actively hunt prey due to their power. Some spirits are so powerful they can possess living beings. A good example is the lord of the dungeon skeletron. This spirit possesses an old mage but seeks to find a new host due to the old age of his current host. To fight the spirit will possess a skeleton of an extinct giant ape species (skeletons are also found in the crimson). Skeletron also controls spinning energy balls similar in appearance to his giant ape skull. He uses these to guard the dungeon that he rules over. When he is defeated he will later possess a metalic upgrade based on his original battle skull that was made by a malicious scientist. The scientist also built the destroyer and grafted metal into the skin of two eyes of cthulhu. The two most powerful spirits are the spirits of dark and light. These are members of an extremely rare species that can corrupt the areas around them to create a perfect habitat for them to live in. The environments must be near them to spread. Both spirits were sealed in a demonite case because both were very power hungry and destroyed the landscape around them in an endless, evenly matched battle. Their power equates to that of the moon lord or greater but do not want to destroy the world and just want to corrupt them. The two spirits are powerful enough to survive with no host. If their habitats are completely cleansed they will die. ironically, as long as one spirit habitat remains neither will die due to both corruption and hallow (and crimson) are suitable for the spirits.

There are many intelligent races in terraria. I will list the most common/most important.

1.Humans. Humans are currently the most powerful and advanced race and have technology that is more advanced the real-life humans. This should not be used to rate the strength as a whole species because humans have a relatively small population and almost all technologies are exclusive to certain groups of people. There are no real nations among humans and they reside in villages, towns or cities with independent rules. Humans are users of almost all types of magic and the most powerful (non player) magic user in all of terraria is a human known as the lunatic cultist.
2.Goblins. Goblins are a mammalian race. They have smooth, hairless skin and pointed ears. The goblins are slightly less intelligent than most other races and are extremely militaristic. Goblins live in nomadic raiding parties and live for war. They are not capable of farming and must steal food. Many goblins use a primitive magic called shadowflame magic and are often unskilled, however some members are natural summoners and use dolls to control a primitive form of minion. They are not serious threats to developed cities due to the their overconfident nature.

3.Lihzahrd. Lihzahrd were the most powerful of all races three thousand years ago. They had an island-spanning civilisation reminiscent of the real-world aztecs. They were so powerful because they combined powerful magic with solar-powered machines to create heat rays and an almost indestructible brick. They built many temples and one became the generator for a planetary shield to keep the moon lord away from earth. They enforced strict laws on other races using powerful robotic golems as peacekeeping devices that were powered by cells storing solar energy. After heavy damage from the moon lord the empire was unable to sustain itself and a series of strong earthquakes just a few years later destroyed the civilisation. Now, only small, primitive underground jungle villages remain, as well as the descendants of those who resided in the projection temple. All traces of the great cities sunk beneath the ground. Modern lihhzahrd are skilled in making potions and are extremely skilled in summoning.

4.Skeletons are skeletons possessed by spirits. They are the second most powerful race in terraria, although that is entirely due to the immense subterranean city that sits on the shore of the sea. All other skeletons live in small thieving groups or act as travelling merchants. There are three 'factions' in the dungeon: the rusted company, molten legion and marching bones. They are technically united under the ruler skeletron but display shows of power to convert other skeletons to their ideologies. Each group has their own magic group (eg. the ragged brotherhood) that practice unique forms of magic. Contrary to popular belief, dungeon skeletons are not evil or militaristic and almost exclusively use weapons to show their power. They are skilled warriors and mages but the skeletons they reside in are very brittle.

In the terraria universe there has been much dispute over the orgins of the name cthulhu. The terraria-inhabiting archaeologists have come up with many theories based on lihzahrd tablets mentioning the name as a scourge. This prompted many to believe cthulhu was an alternate name for the moon lord. This belief was quashed by primitive writing on a cave wall mentioning the name with a crude picture of a humanoid being with tentacles around it's mouth. The truth is that cthulhu was a member of the moon lord's species that lived and died from 12 thousand years ago to 8 thousand years ago. The evidence of others of moon lord's species and many bones and cave paintings as well as lihzahrd pictures show that the moon lord was heavily deformed before it went to space. Evidence of the species suggests that the average size was smaller than the moon lord and possessed no extra eyes or other powers such as teleportation. The moon lord was deformed by it being irradiated by a lihzahrd giant heat ray test aimed at the ocean. The moon lord species is thought to have been a long-lasting species that preyed on large fish such as fishrons. They were semi-aquatic and it seems that cthulhu attacked early human and lihzahrd settlements until his death of natural causes. It is also thought that the species known as 'eyes of cthulhu' was domesticated by cthulhu to find prey. The species likely became (almost) extinct due to competition from the advanced lihzahrd. It is also thought that cthulhu made dealings with a much weaker spirit of darkness, because of evidence suggesting that cthulhu was capable of spreading the corruption.

The largest living organism in terraria is so huge it destroys entire islands as it grows. It is known as the crimson. This enormous fleshy mass was created by the spirit of chaos, a member of the same species as the spirits of dark and light. The entire creature is so large it cannot move it's huge body and has flesh so deep it has no skin. It is often mistaken for a corruptive force (eg. the corruption) Due to it's size and nature. Because the crimson is neither plant nor animal it acts like an animal but grows in a fungal-like way; it replaces the surrounding area with fleshy tendrils to eerily leave a landscape of fleshy trees and bushes on it's body. The creature has many cavernous mouths descending into multiple star-shaped stomachs filled with pools of ichor, a digestive juice that is highly acidic. The creature is so large entire ecosystems live inside it. These include ichor stickers, spiders that carry sacs of consumed ichor that they squirt to use as weapons and the strangely human like face monsters. The crimson has a huge amount of brains that can float and even teleport. These are guarded by huge cells known as creepers. It is thought that the wall of flesh, the beast that guards the spiritsof darkness and light in their imprisonment, was 'grown' using a piece of flesh from the crimson. The crimson monster has no natural weapons and depends on it's immense size and creeper cells as well as the dangerous parasites living on it to stay alive. The crimson was active in the past, however; huge skeletons of dragons and apes are found littering the plains, showing when the beast was younger and smaller it actively killed other animals.

I don't have any ideas but keep up the great work. Though just check your punctuation and capitalization as there are a lot of places where there are errors!
