My server just wont work, neither my friend's.

have started a server with my friend, first we tried port forwarding (I know I at least did it correctly.) then we tried hamachi, which usually always works, until just recently, so that wont work. we tried evolve and that is just a mess that still wont work. I even tried disabling my firewall. It just wont work.Anyone know what to do

Second that.
We tried:

1. Him hosting the server
2. Me hosting the server
3. Different ports
4. Different max players
   
5. With and without password
6. With and without port forwarding
7. Using "Host & Play" from within the game
8. Using TerrariaServer.exe
9. Using start-server.bat

We always get to "Connecting to XX.XXX.XXX.XXX".
And there it stays forever.

could you help me get an "XX.XXX.XXX.XXX" ip to connect to? I don't even know how to get the server online 90% of youtube is Hamachi the rest are just repeats of what I already tried.
