My theory about corruption and crimson

So, in Terraria the world has a chance to spawn either with corruption or crimson, and we know that both of them are gonna be present in the Otherworld. But I think another type of concept about these 2 hazardous diseases of worlds could exist.

What if your world is always polluted with corruption at the start of the game?! And from the beginnig up to the mid game you try to fight it, and eventually find a way to permanently cure the corruption. You use the cure, but something goes horribly wrong, and instead of eradicating the corruption, the cure simply turns it into crimson. And you have to fight it up to the late game.
