need help with king slime glitch

for some reason in terraria the king slime despawns almost instantly when he comes into my view but he can hit me once if he teleports onto me but i still cant see him and i want to be able to fight him, i even reinstalled terraria and it still happens and i don't know why

reinstalling it again
