Items New hardmode ores: chromium and aluminum

there are 4 tiers of pre hardmode ores, so why not 4 tiers of hardmode ores?

chromium/Aluminum. this tier is above adamantite, generates post-mech

chromium: same stats as pre-buff adamantite. melee: chromium casque. ranged: chromium hat (like robin hood's) mage: vandium hood.

COLOR: chromium in real life is a reflective metal, so we will have it have a sheen of rainbow on it's plates

Aluminum: same lieu of titanium, with a different effect. generates post-mech Melee: aluminum mask. Ranged: aluminum crown. Mage: aluminum diadem.

EFFECT: you're weapons frenzy when you take more than 200 damage in a hit... (increased damage and speed for a short time



EDIT: I have since proposed an alloy bar comprised of these two bars. the ores generate post-mech, and when you craft them in a 1:1 form, you will lose half of your bars, but you will get a strong bar capable of augmenting all hardmode armours up to this point (stat boosts)

So, why you will even mine to get Adamantine and Titanium items if they are worse than the Hallow ones?

Hallow is the 4th tier, and if it's not, there's Chlofjkslenfkf 🌿 tier

So, why you will even mine to get Adamantine and Titanium items if they are worse than the Hallow ones?

Hallow is the 4th tier, and if it's not, there's Chlofjkslenfkf 🌿 tier
also everything is slightly buffed and or nerfed
 
Aluminum is REALLY weak. It would realistically give you less defense than Iron.
Also, this suggestion is absurdly huge and will probably never get close to making it, just saying...
 
I'd suggest them be more useful for wiring than armor sets. Not every metal should make for gear progression. Perhaps renewable traps could be made out of those. Or advanced components.

As it stands right now, no support.
 
Might be neat to include aluminum as a third alt for cobalt/palladium and chromium as a third alt for titanium/adamantite, actually. For the middle ore you could make up another fantasy ore as well (common ones include Scarletite and Durasteel). I would prefer if there was a way to easily get all of the top tier ores first though, as they can be shimmered down into the others and right now adamantite worlds are just worse than titanium worlds because of it.

Also, cobalt, aluminum, and mithril should probably do something unique so they have a reason to exist beyond niche things like armor mixing. The thing about pure stat armors designed to have lower stats than the ones directly above them is that there’s often no reason to actually craft and use them because of the ones above them being better in most situations, so Adamantite should ideally be the only armor at this point of the game that provides stats and nothing else.

aluminum is REALLY strong when alloyed with different metals... but you're right

I've changed this to be an alloy bar, as we don't have any of them right now
 
if you count hallow and chlorophyte as a fourth and fifth hardmode ore tier then demonite and hellstone could be their pre-hardmode variants so this suggestion is moot.

Demonite and hellstone are the fifth and sixth tiers of prehardmode ore so I’m not sure what that changes.

We’re talking about ores, not gear/armor sets in general.
Luminite is a fair point though. It’s a metal which isn’t derivative of other metals, unlike spectre and shroomite.

Meteorite is too, but it’s the same tier as hellstone in progression so it falls under “6th prehardmode metal” in my opinion

Wouldn't preHM need a third ore set for the sake of consistency, which I'm not sure the devs would be willing to do. And for the actual suggestion, I don't think this needs to be added. Mining HM ores is tedious as is, so I don't think adding a new ore set is a good idea.
 
Nope, just nope. We have enough ores all ready.
 
Seems unnecessary. Especially for the 200 damage in one hit. Most people will back off and heal rather than dip in to fight when that happens.
 
The base ores are already underused outside of the slew of sword, spear, repeater, armor, and pickaxe, if they had a further purpose, then yes.
