NPCs & Enemies New Post-Golem NPC

I find it very annoying to obtain Lizhard traps after Golem due to some of them being very rare and some of them not even being guaranteed to spawn in your temple!
To fix this I propose adding a new town npc that spawns in after Golem called the Lizhard Engineer who sells the player both 'basic traps' that you can find underground or dungeon and 'advanced traps' that you can find in the temple. I think this would be a good QoL feature that would not be unbalanced due to the stage of the game that this NPC would be obtainable at.

Rather than an NPC, a recipe to made them

I have already suggested that but it didn't get much attention so I decided to make a similar suggestion centred around a NPC because people like them

I would like to buy certain traps for my machines out of convienience so this has my support!

While having a new NPC can be exciting and cool, I feel that including an entirely new NPC is unnecessary, as not only would you have to develop entirely new sprites for the NPC, but also with the context of said NPC's niche being selling traps, wouldn't that fit the Mechanic's job? The Mechanic could unlock the ability to sell the traps including the temple traps once you beat Golem as well, saving having to make the NPC in the first place and essentially applying a similar change in less time.

Though, if you're talking about other traps like (wooden) spikes or the cracked dungeon blocks, than maybe that's where the NPC really shines. Having an NPC that can sell those traps along with many others (looking at you, flame trap), you do not require having to make new worlds just to farm them or visit an all-items community-made world. So, this NPC idea could do well I believe! Plus, it wouldn't make sense that the Mechanic is selling spikes rather than an Engineer anyways, right?

Mechanic already has a lot in their shop already. I don't specifically want an NPC to obtain the items. I would prefer them to be craftable or obtainable through crates and I have suggested that previously but aparently a thread on the "renewability of limited items" gets less attention than a thread titled "NeW POsT GolEm nPC" because people are more drawn to the flashy suggestions than the practical suggestions.

So yeah, basically this thread is a sensationalized version of an older suggestion I made

Talking about NPC,the item disco ball which can be used to decorate a party scene has been sold by merchant for over 10 years,it'll be more reasonable to be sold by party girl in my opinion, and the football as a common toy can be sold by merchant in return,am i right?

I don't know if making threads with the same idea basically is allowed but idk.

I agree. An NPC is a but pointless, when you can just have recipes. A whole new NPC feels modded. But, for as an idea, how about the Lizhard Engineer sells all kinds of traps, not just Lizhard ones.

Well, his old sug was about adding recipe, this about adding an NPC, so it's not same

That's true. I apologize to the OP for that inconvenience.

What if, post-golem, the witch doctor sold the Lihzahrd stuff? He is a Lihzahrd after all...
And the mechanic should sell the other traps in Hardmode.

Honestly that is a better idea than adding a new NPC, but tbh it would just be best if we could craft them
