Living Tree
To describe the game simply: It's a side-scroller shooting game where a girl with guns sends armies of rampaging bots to the Scrapyard.
It isn't entirely accurate to call it Run n' Gun because the shooting stance affects your damage.
From Crouching Shooting (Highest) to Jumping Shooting (Lowest). You also struggle to hit anything while jumping.
The bigger and heavier guns' damage drops sharply when you don't assume a proper firing stance.
To compromise, you can dodge roll all incoming bullets by crouching and hit left or right.
I have a slight problem with this because dropping down from the platform is pressing the same button briefly.
Sometimes it didn't register, and I needed to tap it twice; the other time, it drops me down the platform when I only want to crouch.
The pixel art is beautiful. Each stage is not too short or too long. The story doesn't take itself too seriously. Music gives me goosebumps when I listen to it.
When this Royalty Free Music is playing in-game, I'm like
But let's get back on topic.
I'm excited to see more games like this.
Especially when SNK no longer interest in making classic Run 'n Gun games anymore.
