No sound 1.3+

I had faced pretty same issue when I was using unreliable earbuds.

I ended up connecting my earbuds and speaker to my computer, earbuds infront for the mic and speakers but i connected my speaker to the back of my computer so sound comes out both

Greetings, So this is an issue that happens with me sometimes, I believe it has to do with the order you do things i.e. connecting your headphones after terraria is started leads to them not going into headphones. Typically when I restart Terraria, it will work.
