I'm not sure what you mean. When you follow people, their activity will show up in your News Feed. The News Feed is there for when you want to see it, and if you don't want to then you don't click on it. Are you meaning that the News Feed should have a little red number next to it to tell you there's something new? I'm not sure how helpful that would be versus how it is now. It's there if you want it, and if you don't want to see it you don't click on it.
I mean there should be an option to get regular notifications, in the Alerts box, for stuff in the News Feed. So i check a box in my notifications options and whenever someone i follow posts something the red number on the alerts bell increments. Just like following a thread and getting an alert when someone posts in it.
Ah, I gotcha. I can see how that might be useful for some. It would be great if there was the ability to do this option, and let members decide if they want notifications or not. Right now it’s not part of the vanilla forum software, it’s something to keep in mind for later but no guarantees.
