There are a couple achievements for killing a rare creature. But not enough! I've got a couple on my mind.
Old Trick
Defeat a mimic for the first time
Familiar Foe
Defeat a Rune Wizard for the first time
Dessert Course
Defeat a Rainbow Slime for the first time
The Rainbow Slime one is a reference to Toriko, where the main character is putting together a perfect menu, and the dessert on it is a Rainbow Fruit jello. It also ties in to the "kill all slimes" achievement being called Gelatin World Tour, another reference to food. Also, I'd like to mention that coming up with a good name for the Rune Wizard one was really hard, and I am honestly not satisfied with what I ended up with.

Love your sprite work for the achievements listed above, despite this thread being a couple months old. I can think of a few.
This Is Terraria!!
Defeat a Hoplite while wearing the complete Gladiator set.
I'd say with Gladius as well, but the chances of acquiring all that are slim enough.
Stone Cold Gaze or Stop Hitting Yourself
Acquire and use Medusa's head against Medusa in the Marble Biome.
This could also just be an achievement to successfully kill Medusa.
Rebounded or Shell Smashed
Defeat a Giant Tortoise with the Turtle Armor's damage reflection.
I would go with a Teenage Mutant Turtle joke...in fact, here's another one that might be better.
Totally Tubular, Dude!
Wear the whole Turtle Armor set and eat some pizza.

Easily acquired by any player with a mob farm or any casual after some time.

Acquire and swing The Axe. J.H is engraved on this.

Fire the Gray or Orange Zapinator while wearing the complete Plumber's Set.
Nintendo Power and Zapper Ad reference.

i had a lot of ideas, here are ones that i think are the best
1. it's over nine thousaaaaaaaaand!
get over 9000 of a specific item in one stack (for da memes)
2. but at what cost?
reforge an item using 50+ gold (perhpas 1 platinum but that's pretty lategame)
