Old One's Army not appearing!! Help me!

So, ever since I've heard about the new Old One's Army added in 1.3.4, I've wanted to fight them. One day, I stumbled across the Tavernkeep, and followed his instructions to make a large flat area. I made this area about 200 blocks in length, and put the crystal in the crystal stand.

What happened was, the message below appeared...

The Old One's Army is approaching!

And then that was followed 5 seconds later by...

First Wave: Eternian Goblin

And then I waited for about 30 minutes for anything vaguely goblin like, but nothing happened. The progress bar was down in the bottom right, but it wasn't moving at all. Can anyone help me sort out this problem and maybe tell me what is causing it?

Are you using mods? I've seen this report a few times, but never in the vanilla game.
 
It's worth to try reinstalling the game and the XNA and .Net packages (see Terraria's folder). It helped at least one person a while back.
 
Thanks for the suggestion, I will backup my game folders (Worlds + players) and reinstall the game. :)
