Terrarian
I'm really liking everything so far for Terraria: Otherworld, I especially like the Tower Defense mechanic!
Perhaps it should be an option to toggle like pvp or an alternate game mode at the main menu to make it an rpg style... or maybe a sandbox creative mode that doesn't spawn monsters, etc. just throwing the random thought out there. Seems like it would stop the "love it or hate it" issues.
I don't really understand what they are trying to achieve with Otherworld...
Can someone please explain?
Is it a re-skin of Terraria?
Is it different from Terraria somehow?
Or is it meant to be Terraria with a story?
Thanks.
Also, the first time I watched this I was far more concerned about the speed of the sun and moon. It doesn't appear as though the game has been 'sped up' and I would like to think that there will still be clear day and night cycles that actually have meaning, rather than a fast cycle that serves a minor aesthetic purpose.
But that there brings up an interesting idea... Control over the speed of time? Its as simple as can be to increase the day/night speed temporarily in a game like this. All the other videos we've seen have shown no indication at all that time will pass at that rapid rate. I suspect its very little to be worried about. Remember: pre-alpha.
It'd be a nice way to start a boss that has to be summoned at a certain time. But that there brings up an interesting idea... Control over the speed of time?
Its like some sort of Tool
I don't get it at all.. It's like with comments on Last.fm: "Ohh.. i hear some Tool! And there is some Opeth. Obviously Pink Floyd influence!" Yeah... right =) Elephant took a walk over my ears someday i guess.
i'll be honest, i am getting more and more displeased with Otherworld, dear devs... its just that some things don't really seem to fit together. for instance, it just looks weird to have realystic trees sitting in minecrafty-style blocks. it is just weird.
and the music is good, but way outside the terraria chiptune style.
don't take this the hard way, it is just constructive criticism.
