Weapons & Equip Outside Voice: A deadly magic microphone.

The Outside Voice is a deadly Hardmode magic weapon. It is dropped by the Party Girl in Hardmode after Plantera is defeated, replacing the Happy Grenades. This has a 1 in 4 chance at this stage of the game.

The Outside Voice resembles a simple microphone. Attack by channeling the ability to "sing", which is just you screaming (not words, just noises that emulate screaming, lowered in volume though). This causes the world around you to shake a bit violently. You put the microphone to your mouth and extend your other hand, while opening your mouth widely, looking like you are screaming.

The Outside Voice costs 20 mana per second, and deals 80 damage to all enemies around you constantly. The Outside Voice has a natural 10% crit chance.

Putting the mouse above you makes your screams shrill, and it covers more range, but is weaker. Putting the cursor below makes your screams more metal like, doing more damage but less range.

Tooltip: You might need lessons..

Using the microphone near NPCs makes them cover their ears comedically. It doesn't hurt them, though.

I'll kill them all I like, thank you; if they're going to be unhappy in the glorious castle I built them for free (taxes are not rent) and charge me more just because a few other people are nearby, that's what they deserve.

In all seriousness, I don't really see the problem with killing NPCs, though I'd make this a 100% drop chance, so trying to get it isn't tedious and frustrating.

I don't, but I can understand why other people might; I wouldn't oppose it being craftable if other people would be more comfortable with it.

Crafting could maybe involve this:

1 Microphone (Sold from Party Girl)
2 Mana Crystals
3 Titanium/Adamantite Bars
3 Spectre Bars

now i'm imagining a weapon that's actually based off of what your device's microphone picks up, damage scaling with the volume...

cue me oneshotting DG's after i blast full volume eurobeat
