Parity at last! Terraria 1.3.5 Launches Today on Xbox One and PlayStation 4!

i bought terraria ps4 edition 2 years ago. I noticed something was wrong straight away. Whenever i try to walk, the framerate feels so choppy and laggy. This is especially true when i am moving faster, like flying. Play the PC or the mobile version and see how smooth it is compared to the console mess.
Has anyone else noticed this besides me and do you think it will eventually get fixed?

If i'm right the other console (switch) will be updated at late April but did the developer inform if there will be split screen or no?I don't belive anyone if they have no text to support but if it is from the devs itself i trust.(don't u dare lie to me)
And also i am not angry or have aggrestion about this yet

There is a new glitch on PS4 where all painted blocks are transparent, I do not know if this is intentional but I do know it has ruined many worlds of many gamers.
Please could you fix this or change it as soon as you have time?

There’s a bug that paint makes some walls translucent and it messes with builders please fix. I will post a picture of the problem as soon as I can

Uncovered with the help of Discord Terrarians on launch day (complete with images, video, etc) and ticketed directly to Pipeworks, whom are already working on a fix over the weekend.

Switch 1.3.5 is under testing/fixing at the moment - as we said in the March SOTG, expect this late April at the soonest, depending on internal and external review times.... but it is getting really close.

'bout time that grand design breaking at slopes is fixed... I work with really long wires for teleporters and when I hit slopes, I have to go back.

Greetings Terrarians!

At long last, we have reached the day that once seemed impossible - Terraria on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will receive the 1.3.5 update today, bringing console Terraria up to parity with the live PC version of the game! Terraria 1.3.5 brings a handful of new furniture items, a couple of really cool developer armor sets, and the long-anticipated UI size slider. As usual, the team has tried to roll in a round of bug fixes into the update. So, without further ado, here is the Terraria 1.3.5 for Console changelog!

As for what is next? The console team is planning to look into a few quality of life features we have had in mind for a while, along with any further needed bugfixing from this or prior updates. So stay tuned for that!

Before anyone asks, no this does not mean that PC and Console can now crossplay - as most of you are aware, there are a ton of other hurdles beyond just "same content" that would need to be cleared to make that possible, to put it mildly. We never say never, but this is something we will have to revisit in a post-Journey's End era... and we cannot promise that this will ever be possible. However, it is something we will explore when the time comes.

Me and My friend cant play together on ps4, when i try to join him it just says connecting, and then it says unable to join, try in a few minutes. But when I try again after a few minutes there is no difference? How can I fix this?

FPS is still a choppy mess. Haven't been able to play since the abortion that was 1.3 launched. That's it. I give up. I'm pirating the PC version.
I know, right. Its weird that console players don't even complain about it. I have the ps4 version and the framerate becomes so choppy when i try to move. it feels like the game is running in slow motion, like every frame takes too long. it is especially noticeable when you move faster/ fly.
i give up too. update after update yet the game is such a choppy mess on ps4/xbox one. i can't even enjoy it and pipeworks don't even give me a reply when i mail them. do you think this will ever be resolved?

For me the latest update improved the experience quite a bit, to the point that I no longer think about FPS and console terraria in the same sentence. And I have been a console player since the beginning (and pc player since 1.2.4). I do not know if PS4 is having it rougher, but for me on Xbox One, the experience is solid. It could all boil down to how developed your home base is, with paint, glass, and light sources. Stuff that are known to lower your FPS a little bit.

The characteristic choppy framerate happens even if i create a new character and a new world. This lag is not the usual frame drop. It seems to me that the game skips certain frames. The best way i can explain is that some frames appear for a longer duration than others. This makes the game feel so jittery and unsmooth.
Although, you might be right that the issue is localised to the PS4 version. Do you own the original Xbox One or Xbox One X?
If its not too much to ask, can you upload gameplay of your console version on Youtube so i can have a look?
Thanks =)

Uploading gameplay is not really a great way to see frame rate issues on xbox (got an Xbox One S btw), I have tried that before, but the FPS issues that I tried to capture didn't come across at all. I still experience some FPS jitter even now, but it was way worse before the update. The jitter now is not very noticable unless you are flying around near big structures. During normal gameplay it's not noticable at all.

Thank you for your reply. I hope my issue gets resolved. There's always the PC version i guess. The funny thing is even the mobile version runs very smoothly.

Edit for better grammar:
So does this mean that the map data glitch is fixed. If I join a multiplayer world, quit, and rejoin later. I seem to lose all my map data and have to explore what I had already explored.
I went and checked, it's not fixed on Xbox one and could you please fix it. It happens with everyone I play with and happens for them.

So I found a problem with the1.3.5 update and I thought that this would be one of the best spots to post about it.
I was naming chests to organize stuff and the previous chest's name was showing up on the one I clicked on. I was also using dressers and their individual names were getting replaced by the most recent name of the dresser I was in.
It's not a big problem because the chests show their real name when hovered over but it is really frustrating and I understand if you want 1.4 out instead of this bug.
And thanks for making 1.4 come out a whole lot sooner.
