Pass the World - The TCF Edition!

Final quick update!

I collected some Truffle Worms and Prismatic Lacewings for Dapling.

I did my build in the area under spawn...

...and I quickly did a build for King Jameth based on his room in Kitnight's TCF Tree (it's okay if you want this replaced with something else).

The final thing I did was create a new Jungle Pylon build because the Crimson began to overtake the old one.

You are so great at this game! I love the small house and tree that you built. It seems like you really know the building blocks like the back of your hand :D

We are starting to get close to maybe perhaps nearing possibly the end-ish of our journey, but how can that be since it also feels like we just started yesterday. Let's enjoy it while it lasts, and I can't wait to see what Dapling does this week.

Already killed the two bosses for the week that was the most scuffed daytime empress kill I've ever done, I forgot to grab any potions and had to get some more lacewings because of how stubborn I was, now I just need to make cool stuff!

I'm considering making some kind of world-spanning esoteric puzzles, so any ideas for that would be appreciated. Maybe I could tell a story you have to uncover or something?
 
Alright, looks like my time is up. This week was unexpectedly pretty busy so I didn't get to do nearly as much as I wanted... ;(

This design is pretty simple, but I got a bit of light trickery down which makes the build more complex than it seems in game. The mannequin has this cool effect where it appears gray when illuminated, but moving away from it causes it to turn green and slowly fade away with a flickering effect! If you're curious how it works, it's actually caused by the shadowy omega around it. The omega is made of chlorophyte, so illuminating it causes it to sparkle, which emits green light that slowly diminishes. There's a similar sparkle effect on the black border of the room, but that one causes itself to sparkle due to being made of demonite, which glows on its own. Thankfully, demonite glows dimly enough that it doesn't actually illuminate the omega at all.

And yes, you can just walk in, It might look like you can't, but that part of the room is lying to you with walls that aren't actually solid :D

I didn't get to build any of the secrets I really wanted to unfortunately. Again, this week was incredibly busy without warning. ;(
Maybe I can prep an ARG ahead of time for a different pass the world event so I can do some crazy puzzles there? I would have a plan going into it so I would likely need a lot less time to whip it up.

This was fun to participate in nonetheless! I hope the rest of the weeks aren't nearly as stressful for the participants irl as mine was. Thank you for having me!

That’s a great looking room Dapling. Sorry to hear your week ended being stressful. You still managed to do such much early on. All of you have continued to impress me with your participation and dedication, it’s wonderful to see.

It’s Monday again, and the world continues to move. This week Mille Marteaux will get to have a showdown with the Lunatic Cultist and 3 pillars. Amazing that we’ve come this far already.

What’s the plan for Moon Lord? Well, I’ve got Plan A and then if that doesn’t come through, I’ve got a Plan B. I’m crossing my fingers for Plan A. We’ll see.

It isn't a Terraria playthrough with me if I haven't spent six hours farming for Rod of Discord while my friends are fishing.

This is only the beginning of my housekeeping.

Missed trophy #1! Spent some time setting up a surface Corruption farm to get Mushrooms for eater, I've now also converted the Rod farm to a Corrupt farm to get another thousand-some Soul of Night to go with the Soul of Light stash. There will be so much Destroyer chainsmoking before I'm done here. So much.

The end goal is getting a Putrid Scent to use for Old One's Army farming, because I am a godless monster that does not respect a single enemy in this game.

There are extra Mech trophies in one of the builds below the base, but I'm not rude enough to just dismantle someone else's build for our trophy hall. I work for everything I own, dang it.

I actually didn’t prepare a space for an EoW trophy in the trophy hall… it wasn’t anyone’s assigned boss so it didn’t feel right to include it.

Maybe you could make another trophy hall somewhere for all the ‘optional’ boss trophies (EoW and event bosses). I guess you could alternatively stack the Twin’s Trophies on top of each other on the same pillar (even though it would hurt my symmetry based perfectionism

Destroyer was a little stubborn, but we'll be fixing that behavior problem soon enough.

It turns out that the build at the eastern ocean is rather good for my... plans, so we'll be getting some evil stuff cooking soon.

I just realized there's already a perfect space for more boss trophies, the area above the herb farm!

(I quickly put this together using mods on my copy of the world. The trophies and granite lanterns are all 4 tiles apart, and the furniture on the ends was just for funsies.)

It's just an idea, but the space is already prepared and it would be a cool way to repurpose the arena since it's too small for tier 3 OoA.

This is actually larger than the space I'm used to working with, and that's entirely because of the interaction between Putrid Scent and the Eternia Crystal.


After I hammer the event farm out, though, I likely may use this idea, since it's more clever than anything else I could have come up with.

Just need to put the normal wood flooring back in... = w=;;

Oh wow, good job! I normally make my arena the max 240 blocks wide to buy myself as much time as possible while fighting Betsy. But I've also never used Putrid Scent for the OoA, I'll have to try that during my next playthrough.:dryadsmile:

It was an accidental discovery I made one day while playing Shroomite Ranged that became an innovation of necessity I picked up during Legendary mode.

I noticed that as long as I could maintain Shroomite's stealth bonus, Betsy would ignore me... so when I was playing Legendary and trying to farm Betsy's Wings, I used Putrid Scent to get extra breathing room.

Pretty much any ranged attack should work. Summon damage obviously has the highest advantage here since you're boosting your giant stack of sentries as well, but every other archetype has the tools to sling ranged damage at Betsy and outrace her damage against the crystal without being defeated in the process.

You also don't particularly need a Terraprisma, this is perfectly doable on UFOs as well. Ravens and Deadly Spheres should also suffice, but I've never been in a position where I've been actively farming this event without using either Terraprisma or a Chain Gun/Eventide, depending on the level of effort I want to put into aiming.

Finally, 16 kills!

Very small post this time since I intend to play a little more intensively this evening, I'd like to do at least one stream of this to hang out and show my processes and today's going to be more prep so may as well?

Random pirates spawned. As it turns out, the setup for the Ocean Pylon house is just right and you can hover in the airspace near it, and invasion enemies spawn in one area on the crane, keeping the NPCs safe while Terraprisma aggroes them.

This is encroaching uncomfortably close, so I might do a little (lot) of Clentaminating to push it back and quarantine the surface desert area there to maintain the Pylon at the very least? Unsure.
