I got kind of excited when I found seaweed that allows me to summon a pet turtle but the problem is I can't seem to get rid of him now. I have tried using the seaweed again which just summons him again, I have tried summoning my battle pet slime but it doesn't get rid of the turtle. I have tried right clicking the seaweed removing the seaweed from my inventory, switching, worlds, and exiting the game completely and restarting it and he is still there! Please tell me how to get rid of him other than summoning a different pet to replace him.

It also goes away if you right-click the buff image below your hotbar.

When you die in Terraria it removes your pets.

I never knew killing yourself got rid of pets, for me it only gets rid of minions.
