Anasu Meruku
Official Terrarian
Hi, Terraria devs, I am playing game since 2013 (on PC since 2016).
I actually don't know if it there is similar suggestion here, but i would rather be so happy if you notice it!
Not so long time ago i completed Subnautica and noticed there a really useful mechanic, which I can't do without.
As it happens, I have problems with short-term memory and sometimes i suffer from it.
I literally forgetting what i wanted to craft after mining resources and trying to remember what i really need, of i completely forgetting at all (especially i noticed it while playing with tModLoader).
So, there are my suggestions!
Player's pinned recipes
The player can pin the needed recipe in the inventory menu. They can pin the recipe by left-click + hotkey. If you are crafting something which has a big crafting tree, or if you are building something colossal and completely forgot which blocks are you need, you can open an inventory and already see your pinned recipes and which materials are you need and how many.
In Subnautica you can pin item, vehicle or material and see it in the upper right corner of the screen by the right-click.
In Terraria it can be made differently (as marking an item as featured).
Of course it should have a limit, because it shouldn't to not take up too much space on the screen and at the same time to not confuse the player. I think 5-7 recipes are quite enough!
The last created item
The player can see which crafting item which they created in the "crafting" menu and craft it again if they have needed materials. In which moments it can be really useful?
1. For beginners
2. For people which have problems with memory
3. For builders, which doesn't prefer to use maps as Builder's Workshop
4. For collectors, which are want to collect unique armor, weapons and something else.
5. Before battles with bosses, when you need to make many buff potions.
