Graphics look... better! I've also noticed a few in-game glitches that should be fixed. (Getting hit by another pirate when your dodge rate was over one-hundred percent? How does that work?)
So... Pillagin Me Pixels?!

Its not "100% dodge all the time" its 100% of a set rate to dodge, if you have 100-200 dodge you will be hard to hit but you should get hit every so often just considerably less often then a person with dodge rate. I personally have a 200%+ Dodgerate pirate and they can take on a lot of stuff while taking minimal damage.

Oh, thanks!

I decided to look at my Steam account for no reason whatsoever. Turns out I had $5 in there. ::downloading Pixel Piracy!::

Just went to App Store it does not
As i have said to other people, you didn't look hard enough

I think he was referring to Pixel Piracy, under the common misconception that Re-Logic developed it.
:sigh:
Do people even read these announcements, or just beg for stuff?

Sweet! Now all we need is Mac port! ^_^

if you could make yourself entirely immune to getting hit at an achievable dodge rare the game would become massively broken.
so obviously there'd need to either be a cap or make dodge rate a percent times a constant rather than a percent of the time you actually dodge. doubt it's a bug, more likely just a bit opaque on how they explain it(so still something to fix just lol @ what you thought needed fixing)

so yeah, what i said it'd have to be. percent times a constant. but does it show that anywhere in game or are people other than thomas going to get confused?

As a gamer, if I see a dodge rate of over 100%, I automatically assume that its not actually 100%, but some sort of multiplier.

Either that or it is counteracted by some sort of Enemy Accuracy score, for instance:

Player has 120% dodge rate, enemy has 70% accuracy bonus, subtract 70% from 120 to get 50% dodge rate. Or something like that, you know?

Suffice to say, I think there is an evasion cap, and the higher your dodge rate, the closer you get to it.

Had the game for a few weeks I think. Got it a few days before the previous update. So if I got this right, this 'relaunch' is basically a patch that finishes off a series of updates meant to bring the game to a satisfactory standard?

That aside, Pixel Piracy is pretty fun. Apart from the clunky interface and annoying bugs/glitches the game itself can easily get me to play for hours on end. I found that things could be explained a little better at times though. For example the dodge rate stat. This may be because I did not actually read the "help" section all that much, but my first playthrough was ended when my captain just kept taking damage over time until he died. I still have no idea what caused it, I had him eat citrus fruit so it was not hunger or scurvy. I also put a bandage on which supposedly stops the bleeding effect... that did not help either. So I watched him die slowly(health regeneration was, unfortunately, only enough to delay the inevitable. I had no nearby towns to sail to to emergency stock up on elixirs just to keep him alive longer and figure out what was wrong.) Though I guess I have to admit that this is a bit refreshing. No one is really holding my hand from the start, I get a few basic pointers and what each key does and that's it. It's quite satisfying to figure things out at times, and even though I wasn't happy about my first captain dying it was still fun. (And taught me to not carelessly engage Vikings even if their 'danger level' is the same as some Chinese pirates I crushed with ease moments earlier. Because honestly, I went up against a Viking ship, lost half my crew and eventually my captain. rekt.)

Also a few times I would randomly get knocked off the island/ship when my captain would land the killing blow on the last enemy on the ship/island. Of course I could reload but it was a bit frustrating that I just randomly died in a silly way(knocked back so hard that my captain slid to a stop in the sea).

Still, having bought it on a sale I definitely got far more than my money's worth. I have not played since this update so I can't say how much improvement there is.. and I probably won't be for a while because I think I have only tasted a little bit of the game so far. Never had an actual ship battle with cannons and stuff and my highest level was under 30.

Would I recommend it? Yeah, though I'd wait for a sale... such as the one right now. And probably advise anyone to save often/keep autosave on or something.

GG TERRARIA, YOU ARE THE TRUE MASTER RACE. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MAKE MONEY, BUT YOU KEEP THE SPIRIT OF THE COMUNITY

...you know, everytime i see "master race", i get a little closer to snapping, and lose more faith in humanity.

anyway... pixel piracy looks interesting, just a shame it isnt on console, too... no game will ever reach its full potential until its available to everyone, i think.

Last time I played this was in the 1 of 4 major updates to it. I still enjoyed it even before the changes. Now looks like there is even more to enjoy. Been looking from time to time while they updated each time.

Got it some time last year I think. I mainly am into the ship building part of it.:)

Good to hear they added another difficulty though.

I might boot up the game eventually when I am in the mood for the game, but have a lot of games to choose from; I just love having a selection I can shift between.

Wish I could play this, its so cool!

(also this is my 100th post)

Is this planned to get a phone port like terraria it doesnt look like a very demanding game and would fit for touch controls i think

Your asking the wrong people. Try Quadro Delta

seems like just yesterday I watched hero's pixel piracy tutorial and played for a while. I might play some more in a bit but I also just started a new world on terraria. Decisions decisions.

Never tried it, or seen gameplay. But it looks cool. Might look into it more. I do like pixels, after all.

One question: Is this thing free? Probably not. How much does it cost? (Okay, that's two. I lied.)
