....Since the current ones can only be placed on a flat/ground surface, and can only be fired in a horizontal line or above, yet nothing lower than that. I know this can be done if you have the portal gun yourself (but that's not the point)... This would be for an automatic way to do it, and could be set up with switches. It could be useful for puzzles, or a complex way to navigate into an area... etc. Anyway, I think it'd be neat.
Edit: This gets into another idea I had, but since it's related to blocks/blackground items... A reflective block that could be placed and hammered if needed -- as a way to get portals on the ground or lower on walls... That's the only other alternative I can think of.
