he already is an event boss for the blood moon though, because the blood moon is an event.
Yes, but no health bar, so he is just a mini-boss

Not really. An event boss is exactly the same as a miniboss, but they are found in events

What are you talking about? The thread author can update the thread name and description at any time.
Really? How? It's never worked for me

So could you please update the thread name and description to clearly say:

"Make Dreadnautilus a Event Boss"?

If the thread name and description match the current intent, it will be clearer.
I can’t believe I never really thought of that, part of me didn’t know it was possible. It’s changed now. Thank you :)

Please change "A" to "an" in the title, Its driving me crazy already

Dread is already an event boss though, because he's a miniboss that is tied to an event (Blood Moon). So technically, you got what you wished for whenever you wanted Dread to be an event boss.

I think you're misunderstanding the point of this thread. From a gameplay perspective, Dreadnautilus is not an Event Boss, he's just a "stronger enemy".
For example, let's take the Goblin Warlock and the Flying Dutchman. The Goblin Warlock is a "stronger enemy", and the Flying Dutchman is an Event Boss.
Dreadnautilus is treated in the same category as the Goblin Warlock, meaning "stronger enemy".

The difference is that Event Bosses, like regular Bosses, have a health bar at the bottom of the screen, have an icon on the minimap, have a trophy, don't have their own banner, and in Master Mode drop a Relic and their own pet/mount. Dreadnautilus has none of these things, and after 10 kills drops their own Banner, making them a "stronger enemy".

The point of this thread is to get the creators to give him Event Boss status by removing his banner and adding a health bar at the bottom of the screen, a minimap icon, a trophy, and drops in Master Mode. Dreadnautilus is definitely closer to an Event Boss like the Flying Dutchman than a "stronger enemy" like the Goblin Warlock, so we want him to be treated as an Event Boss from a gameplay perspective by giving him the things listed above.

Keep in mind that a boss is supposed to be a stronger enemy that can be a challenge to fight and that you can focus on more than the enemies around you, and Dreadnautilus definitely falls into that category, and his drops are secondary. The Flying Dutchman drops the same things as the rest of the Pirate Invasion, and yet he is still an Event Boss.
That's why Dreadnautilus could also hold that title, especially since the summoner weapon he drops is really strong.

personally, I think the only difference between a miniboss and an event boss is that event bosses are found in events, therefore making Dread an event boss. However, adding a health bar would make him more consistent.

Very well written. I agree :)

At the end of the day all I really want is the boss bar and trophy so Dead can be like the flying dutchman and other event bosses, and yes that would make for better consistency. :)

Dread needs a health bar and a better way to summon him. it is a pain to waist bait because you only get blood eels and flying fish when you try to fish.

Perhaps a bait with a higher chance of fishing Dread specifically. Maybe something like “Bloody Worm”

I agree with the idea, but the bait should work like the truffle worm

The Feastworm: Rare chance of spawning during a blood moon, and is the only insect that will attack the player, lunging at them. If it hits you, it'll deal 100 damage, disappear, and give you the debuff "Parasitic", which causes you to have almost every stat lowered. (Defense, damage, Regen, speed...) Catching them allows you to guaranteeingly fish up the Dreadnautilus, which can still be fished up rarely at random.

There's too much chaos during a Blood Moon for you to spot a little bug and catch it before it hits you. That would be an unfair death in many cases.

I don't know about this idea, it just seems like a mindless, more tedious way to fish up Dread, and while also feeling a bit modded. It should just be a regular critter that fishes up Dread.

Well, Mr. D beat me into saying that lol. I didn't notice until I posted this.

Okay then, what if the summon was somehow crafted, or perhaps rewarded by the angler?
