Subtle boosts and AI changes occur to possessed armors that spawn in the evil biome or Hallow in Hardmode. These boosts are based on the sets. These possessed armors become Shadow Armor in the Corruption, or Crimson Armor in the Crimson, and also become Ancient Hallowed Armor in the Hallow. Both the evil and good armors get a special attack as well, so they’re not just stupid fighters. They also have more health.
Shadow Possessed Armor that is found in the Hardmode Corruption have much higher speeds than normal possessed armors or other fighters. They can nearly outrun you, and often leave an afterimage. The Shadow Possessed Armor’s chosen attack is the Ball O’ Hurt, which is used as a flail; they attack a lot like a player and charge the ball around themselves and fling it a longer distance. Their attack is a longer range than the Crimson Armor’s attack, but is weaker.
Crimson Possessed Armor, the Hardmode Crimson’s counterpart, will regenerate health if not killed quickly. They are slower moving than their corrupt counterparts, but can be annoying. These guys use the Rotted Fork as a spear attack; it is a little larger than the original spear. This attack has a shorter range than their Corruption counterpart, but it hits harder.
Both evil armors have more health than regular Possessed Armor. They usually drop Souls of Night, but also commonly drop one of their own armor pieces, which can be sold. They may also drop their respective evil bar in excess as treasure to be sold. This makes evil armors good to farm for money.
Ancient Hallowed Possessed Armor, the “good” counterpart, spawns in the Hallow. It has the ability to block damage entirely; it glows to warn this ability. They attack with the Excalibur, in a similar fashion to the player; the attack makes a yellow glow around the swing, but they swing the Excalibur at a slower rate to be balanced. The Hallowed Possessed Armor is a lot more tough than their crimson or corrupt counterparts. Hallowed Armors drop a lot of coins, but no armor pieces. They also drop Souls of Light.
