the quote button is so you can click multiple quotes without being thrown down to the bottom of the page, and then add them all when you're ready c:

Can someone explain to me how to use quotes in the first place? I can't figure it out.

Click Reply to quote a single post and it immediately sends you to the bottom to finish it.
Click +Quote to accumulate posts you want to quote and click the Insert Quotes... button that magically appears at the bottom to organise/remove/paste the quotes into the quick reply box. c:

A neat little new trick on these forums will let you highlight a section of text you want to quote, and a tiny pop-up will appear under it . . . if you hit Reply, it will insert that specific bit of text as your quote. It lets you quickly add short or specific quotes, without having to delete all of the extra stuff from the post!
