It still has nothing to do with it. You might not know this but there is a 'nude' sprite that male and female characters have in which armor, and clothing, is normally drawn over. By all means, it's easier to sprite just the clothing to be displayed over a base sprite than to make a whole new one for each and every armor, and clothing, set in the game. Sometimes, graphical glitches occur with the sprites and this occurs. Well... not sometimes but rarely.

Anyway, only thing I'm saying here as this whole thing was an unneeded necro of an old thread.
