Whips don't seem to gain special effects from Flasks and Fire Gauntlet's (like Ichor flask effect and Fire Gauntlet/Magma Stone's fire effect)
Any other melee modifier except raw damage works on Whips even the knockback buff from Fire Gauntlet.

Is this intentional or an oversight?
I'm wondering if i should report is as such cause even mining tools benefit from flasks and fire gauntlet's fire dmg.

Not to mention the higher the melee speed modifier on Whips the lower its range/reach.
Aswell as actual size modifier doesn't seem to work properly on Whips they just get bigger the lower the melee speed is on thenm.

Regardless of the functionality of a weapon, whether it has range or not, or works basically like a melee weapon, what matters is the type of damage it puts out (and if magic, mana cost is characteristic).

Whips do summoning damage, and so they will not be affected by flasks/fire gauntlet. That is working as intended.

As for a negative effect from melee speed on whips, that may be a bug.

Tools like pickaxes despite having melee damage they don't benefit from melee speed modifiers.. So there is also that little detail.
Aswell as there are magic and ranged weapons in the game that don't consume mana or ammunition or override ammunition in favor of weapons own special type of projectile and damage.

Excuse "it doesn't work with flasks because it deals summon damage" while whips still benefit from other melee modifiers only makes it sound more and more like a ovesight and not something that is working as intended. There is no logical reason why whips can't benefit from flasks.
Not to mention every other class has their own ways of applying Ichor for example. Summoner doesn't.

So unless one of the dev says so that is working as intended. This report is still open.

Currently, Flasks are being considered Melee only.

The counter-productive speed/size issue is a reported bug.
