Good day, Terrarians!

Everyone here at Pipeworks is working incredibly hard to bring you the best update possible. It’s of vital importance to us that your saved data transfers over to the new update.

In order for us to do some additional testing we’d like to secure some saved game data from the community. It’s also important to note that the PS3 will not be receiving 1.3. This is for anyone looking to upgrade from PS3 to PS4

Note: This is specifically for PS3 & PS4 saved data. We are handling Xbox data internally.

You can find instructions on how to submit saved data to us below.

Insert a formatted USB stick into any open USB port on your console. For each console, follow these instructions, where ‘save data’ means your Terraria saves:

PS3: http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/game/copysavedata.html
PS4: http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps4/settings/data_system.html

Once your save data is copied to the USB drive, insert the drive into your PC. Take the ‘PS4’ folder and compress it using your favorite file compression program.

Go to https://wetransfer.com/. Follow the on-screen interface to attach the save game file for transfer. Enter [Submissions have been closed] as the destination address.

One last thing before you hit “Transfer,” please include your email address in the message field so we can confirm the details of your world are showing up as expected. If you feel like attaching some pictures of the way your world looked the last time you loaded it that would be useful!

Thanks for your support! We’re working to make this console Terraria patch the best one yet!

Kinda wish I didn't sell off my ps3 last year or I'd help since I had Terraria on both but never transferred the save data.

I think its related to the code between ps3 and 4 for the data and how it'll interpret it...? If that's right then technically a world of every item would work to see what bugs out? Just hypothesizing

QA has us covered on that right? I wouldn't fancy making a 'semi' all items map. (Legit player)

Really, just including screenshots of how your world looks, chest contents, etc. would help a ton. We don't want you to necessarily generate anything you wouldn't normally make, but knowing how it should look helps us find discrepancies.

Thanks,

Zach

Well starting from early hard mode on ps4 after my kids deleted my world I managed to hit post fishron with his gear and started collecting all the gear now including costumes. Legit wise issues would be Halloween and Christmas events items plus the rare Japanese ps exclusive items. Pretty sure you're right that q n a has it covered n probably has, but they might be testing the saves in 1.2.4 to 1.3 environ on top of everything else I mentioned.

What I am curious about is are the ps3 versions going to remain with the old logos from before pipework took over or will there be a soft patch to fix this with the possible save data fix if any? Admittedly it would be weird to have Terraria on two systems different pubs

that would be a fun trick personally. Ps4 to stick to chromebook (linux Terraria dual boot but slow as slime not hopping)

so I could just spam pics of my fishland areas I use for ps4 and have you boggle? :)

I don't think they are looking for specific items in worlds, but having more items/structures in the world is probably a better test.

They want to be as sure as possible that the worlds you care about the most will still work in their newly built engine and with the 1.3 additions.

Oh sweet, can i ask one question ? Its possible if you can make something to put the ps3 save (character / worlds) compatible with pc? (remove bads things like ps3 exclusives and keep only what is compatible with pc) ?

Because I have play terraria one years on my ps3 and Its sad for me to restart all in pc .-.

Well Im going to send you my save latter anyway (sorry for my english)

I'm pretty curious about the mobile companion app that came out a while ago. They seemed to have put a lot of effort into it and dropping support for it would be a waste.
I'm pretty sure the functionality of this app will be replaced by the in-game mini-map, so it will be redundant once 1.3 is released.

Since everything on the console side has been rewritten from the ground up, the app will be non-functional, and there's no real reason to update it.

I suppose that if some people choose to NOT upgrade to 1.3, they can continue using the app.
(note: the app does not (and never did) work for last-gen consoles)
