Resolved [PS4] Eater of worlds Expert playthrough: (i need tips)

So i was going through my expert play-through (i have gotten past EoC and King Slime) i have found that the eater of worlds had killed me first time, so at first i thought i needed practice but it kept going on and on. Eventually i realized i would need to turn to these forums for assistance. What can i do to resolve this issue?

Meteor armor and space gun are really effective.
You’ll wanna clear out a very wide area in the underground corruption, with one or two platforms that go across the whole chasm. Of course, accessories like Hermès Boots, Cloud in a Bottle, and the Shield of Cthulhu are very helpful, and you’ll wanna bring swiftness, ironskin, and regeneration potions, as well as some campfires.

Thanks for the help! i defeated it using the strategy you suggested and i cleared an area with bombs to make an arena!
