Question [Question] Can moving sand be transported?

Crdguy

Terrarian
When sand is moving I don't think it is a block. Would this be able to be moved with HOIKs?
If we could we could have self-building structures and such.
I'm no expert when it comes to HOIKs, but I will do my best to experiment on this.

EDIT: This isn't possible. But as Sonnette said, it may be possible with teleporters. If anyone wants to test it go ahead, but I don't have access to teleporters just yet as I deleted my complete game.

First of all, you can't hoik projectiles.

Second of all, if it did work, in theory, it would turn to regular sand as soon as it touched the hoik.

However, teleporters might work. Never tried it.

Ah.

Well, there we go then. I'll make some edits.
the only hoik-able projectile is the ones that come out of the terrarian, I did extensive research on what projectiles are hoik-able, and found that only the terrarian is.

I'm sorry, but what is your definition of projectile and how extensive was that research? To my knowledge projectiles are hoikable, one recent example that comes to mind is boulder hoik for the moonlord fishron. My 'guess' is that projectiles are hoikable as long as they can survive a collision, and afaik sand ball does not. Afaik projectiles can't be teleported, nor sand in it's block form.

and yes it seems that only projectiles that dont break on impact are hoikable IE: terrarian particles

All projectiles are hoik able, as long as they interact with blocks. Most of them break as soon as they touch a block though.

Make that "decompiled". I'm pretty sure the source code is quite manageable, it's the decompiled code that's the nightmare.
Though the SetDefaults() methods are really quite plain, as long as your decompiler flattens if-elses. The Wiring methods though...

Time to start making some farms then.. this'll be interesting.

indeed it is, it would be cool if bullets were hoik-able
HIGH SPEED BULLETS!

Seriously though, there is a separate entity called "sand ball". This is shot from the mouth of an antlion. This turns into a sand block when it comes in contact with the ground. As for a personal antlion... well you've got the sand gun which does the same thing I believe. However, I don't quite know what you want it for, or if that would work.
