Quick Stacking to piggy bank deletes coins

It happens when there are enough gold coins already in the piggy bank and you quick stack enough gold coins to "roll over" to a platinum, except a platinum coin isn't generated.
 
I'm pretty sure it's always been that way.

If you have 95 cold coins in your piggy and you quick stack 10 gold into it, you end up with a stack of 99 gold coins, and another stack with 6 gold coins.

Are the extras not being placed in the piggy?

I haven't played in a few months but I definitely did lose money whenever I quickstacked after a mining run.
 
I tried filling up a piggy bank and stacking coins into it, but I didn't see any loss of coins. I did observe the coins were stacked up in the inventory - perhaps that's what you were seeing?

Would you be able to attach a before and after screenshot of what you're seeing? (Showing your inventory and the Piggy Bank inventory.) Thanks!
