It slows down. If the angle of incidence is not 90° it will be deflected by an amount dependent on the indices of refraction of the two media.

How to mess with your kid: Buy some of these, then take a pin and make two or three holes in the back of the wrapper. Blow a little air in to puff up the wrap. Kid picks it up, squeezes to open it. SSSSSSSS
 
I've come with a new perspective to the argument of whether water is wet or not.
Everything that exists is either wet or dry.
If it is neither, that means it does not exist.
Everyone knows water is not dry.
Therefore, anyone who says it isn't wet, is by proxy saying it doesn't exist.

if something keeps you dry, it's dry. otherwise, it's wet. which means that water is in fact wet, because it doesn't keep you dry.
