Casual Random Chitchat Thread

I've got a problem, everyone. I'm hoping someone can help me out with this lol
I have no skill with instruments, but I want to make music on the computer (Think Undertale themes-style stuff)
Can anyone tell me how to make music on the computer with no instruments or any skill of how to use said instruments?

Write it down on a note sheet?
Also, anybody else just sit around and think to themselves "I should really start an RP based off the Chernobyl disaster"?

What you want is DAW (digital audio workstation) software. There are many types, from simple to very complex and free to super-expensive. I'll mention a couple of popular free DAWs.

If you have a Mac or an iPad, you can download Garage Band free. It's pretty easy to learn but has enough power to make decent music.

If you have a Windows PC and feel daring, you could try Cakewalk by Bandlab. It's free too, the descendant of what used to be fairly expensive pro-level software (Sonar). Comes with a starter bundle of instruments and effects. It's got a steeper learning curve than Garage Band but is much more capable.

If Cakewalk is too overwhelming, Bandlab itself is a much simpler online music-making system — sort of "sticker fun" so to speak. You can combine loops and tunes you create to make finished tracks. Bandlab works on Mac, Windows, and mobile devices.

These will get you started, but of course at some point you'll need to develop musical skills. Practice, watch tutorials, and experiment. Don't force it. Creativity has to come to you on its own terms. Who knows? Maybe you'll enjoy it so much you end up like me, surrounded by computers, audio interfaces, MIDI keyboards, synthesizers, drums, guitars, wind instruments, and so on.

Good luck!

Thanks so much! I'll do my best!
