Secret World Seed randomizer seed?

after seeing so many games add randomizer modes, i just started thinking... what if terraria had a randomizer seed?

like, what if ANYTHING could appear ANYWHERE?

imagine finding a flower of fire in your first wooden chest... or a random collection of seeds in a shadow chest.

or imagine moon lord loot dropping from a slime.

yes, this seed could obviously end up providing you with a VERY broken run, but it could just as easily be very unlucky and leave you struggling to find what you need.

basically, every time the seed is generated, it could randomize the item pools.

maybe it's not possible to pull off... but it sounds like a fun idea to me, atleast. :dryadtongue:

i would suggest maybe randomizing the enemies/bosses, as well... but that could likely make the run unbeatable, depending on how it rolls everything.

but who knows, maybe it could work out.

I can't say that the game would be made worse if this was an option, but it's an extremely modded idea, and in my opinion, it doesn't fit into the base game.

you know, i hear that a lot when it comes to actual content not made by re-logic, which i can understand... but how does randomized item pools not fit in?

i don't see how it's much different than messing with world generation in the way that other seeds do.

I have to agree with Sammich on this one a little. While I'm sure their reasons are probably different, it could be way too broken to get a meowmere(or two) instead of gel from slimes, just to name an example. On the other hand... it would certainly be an interesting challenge as well. Gel might be a limited resource in one world, because it could only be found in chests.

Oh, and may I propose that it extends to NPC trades as well?
 
i don't think there is one game in all of existence that has been made worse by adding a randomizer mode, so obvious support, randomizers are awesome

i mean, if they'd be concerned about making something OPTIONAL that could be BROKEN... why include a god mode?

you could argue journey mode in general is broken, but plenty of people enjoy it and i personally think it was a MASSIVE improvement.

so i don't see anything wrong with making a seed that could potentially provide you with a broken run.

after all, people use the special seeds to experience the game in a completely new way, and not all of them are necessarily a "challenge mode".

this is a seed idea that could go either way.
