Items Rare Crafting Stations should be able to reproduce themselves.

There are several specialized crafting stations which are found in specific places, and which may be rare in a world (or absent, but this suggestion doesn't deal with that). I propose that these crafting stations should be able to craft another of their own type, with a standard cost of perhaps 25 of their usual material. This would cover specifically those stations which are not purchased or crafted (or, optionally dropped).

All of these except one are just furniture stations, (or support for other furniture stations), so it shouldn't be a major issue for balance. Not covered: Extractinator. Also not covered, but there really should be some other way to get it: The Sharpening Station.

  • Bone Welder
  • Ice Machine
  • Living Loom
  • Sky Mill
  • Lihzarhrd Furnace
Optionally (dropped by enemies or bosses):
  • Solidifier
  • Honey Dispenser
  • Meat Grinder
  • Ancient Manipulator (25 Luminite)
Optional variation: The Ancient Manipulator can craft any of the above, given 25 of the appropriate block. That would basically mean that once you've reached the end-game, you can craft any of the furniture sets, even if you got stiffed on the Living Loom or suchlike.

Sounds like a good idea. It wouldn't be extremely useful in most cases, but in some it could save the player from looking for them, or looking for another of them.

As for the ancient manipulator aproach though, on first glance it sounds that - if the sky mill would be crafted from sunplate blocks - as it looks like it's made out of that, like all the sunplate furnitures, and you would like to acquire a sky mill via this method because there wasn't any in your world, you couldn't, because you would need a sky mill to make sunplate blocks, to begin with.

Hmm... you could mine the Sky Cabins for sunplate blocks.
