Reforging Armors gives em new set bonuses, at the cost of removing that armor's primary set bonus. Reforged armors may also gain new stats and have the rest of the armor's stats decreased by 50%.
For example, it might be possible to remove the dash and the burning shield bonus of Solar Armor. Instead, it gains Titanium's Shadow Dodge bonus.
Stat example, Stardust armor may get its +5 minion bonus halved (1 minion helmet, 2 minion legs and chest, so 3 minions instead of 5), but it might get +30% more ranged damage, or something like that.
Armor-tiering based on rarity also dictates which bonuses it will get.
An adamantine armor set can get the titanium bonus, but a jungle armor cannot get any hardmode armor bonus, for example.
