Weapons & Equip Reforging armor in 1.4.5?

This is very, very unbalanced. It's +12% damage, or +12 defense, or +12% crit chance, without even using an accessory slot for it. And how exactly would it enable more armor variation? It's just free stats.
 
as others have said, it's hella overpowered

it could maybe work with only allowing the +2 stats (note that arcane (+20 mana) is still within this however) but you're still looking at a +6% gain if it's only armor, which isn't super extreme for most stats but is still pretty significant for CSC

another alternative could be to have armor-specific reforges, so for example there could be "blessed" which has very minor boosts to damage and swing speed, or reuse "bulky" from melee weapons for significantly lowered speed but more defense
 
I'd rather the devs not have to re-balance everything around armor reforges, even if you up the price to "balance" it this suggestion is still overpowered
 
This could be added on some special world seed. The costs of reforging would increase. Every weapon, armor and accessory could get every prefix (ex. warding bow doesn't have to work, just wasted money).
 
Think about it, more defense more damage, this will allow for more armor variation. More builds etc..
I’ve wanted this for a while, so yes!

but imagine being a starter player and making your first set of armor, just to have it say: ‘shattered’ or ’dented’
unless it’s like accessories, where they don’t get negative modifiers

in final: yes but they can only get reforges from the tinkerer and not from crafting.
