Remember Your First Time Playing Terraria

CyberScythe

The Destroyer
Post your first time playing Terraria in this thread you can also add how you got the game

My first time playing Terraria was back in 2015 I had a gamestop giftcard and went and bought the game for my Xbox 360 I played the game for 10 mins but raged quit like the 8 year old I was because I kept getting killed by green slimes lmao

Now I play on pc and have gotten a zenith and killed the moon lord and im starting a expert world

I remember building a roof with platforms  then watching Python play the game and i copied him lol

It was 2013 and a friend had it on his ipad, I tried it for a little bit, but didn't understand it. What I did retain from it was that the game is way different from Minecraft, build a hellevator and how suitable buildings worked. Fast forward to march 22nd 2021, I was getting bored of my Minecraft marathon and knew that a few friends of mine had over 100 hours in the game, so I bought it to vary what activities we did as a group. The first few hours of it I played alone and got used to basic mechanics though, I carved a large quarry instead of a hellevator even though I remembered it for some reason (I forgot why), which became useful for storage later on. We eventually got to hardmode on that world, but it corrupted and we lost 20 or so hours of progress; as such I said to myself if I'm gonna regularly backup my worlds, I might as well make it worthwhile, so now I regularly play on master mode and beat Moon Lord for the first time purely on that world difficulty, and now I'm doing it again on a for the worthy world. That's my terraria story summed up to about right now and I'm glad I didn't postpone getting the game longer than I did.

10 year mc veteran, 127 hours total in terraria, 60+ on my master mode character who has a zenith and max ranger gear, and about 6 on master mode for the worthy, is what it is for me, congrats on those numbers mate, I probably shouldn't try to one-up you.

I was way younger than I am today. I installed terraria onto my phone... and couldnt figure out how to build properly. Next time I played a couple of years later I figured that out, found a slime staff and a zombie arm... than quit because I wasn’t progressing. The next time I played... I got another slime staff + zombie Arm and than quit because I wasn’t sure how to progress. I finally played on PC and did a full playthrough... no slime staff though.

When I was 11, I was browsing the app store on my tablet and noticed that Terraria was on sale. I didn’t know much about the game at the time but I was interested in it after watching a few of Stampy’s videos on it. The things that I remembered the most from my first playthrough were: I (for some reason) thought that the chain knife, web slinger, and clockwork assault rifle were extremely good; I always used the assault rifle over the megashark. I used to think that ‘X% not to consume ammo’ was supposed to be a drawback to a weapon or set of armor, meaning that there would be a chance for a weapon to consume a bullet without firing anything rather than the opposite. I struggled so hard on my first time fighting the Twins, I never had as big of a problem fighting any other boss. I always made the melee armor sets because they gave me the most defense. I spent hours waiting for solar eclipses so that I could make the Terra Blade but I was only able to get one broken hero sword in the end (I was playing 1.2 where the hero swords were a extremely low drop chance from eclipse enemies rather than Mothrons). My world has titanium in it meaning that I had to use a different world to gather adamantite in order to craft the Ocram summon.

I remember watching Stampy's Terraria videos

I rented it when I was like 11 or so for the Wii u I didn't know at ALL how to play the game I didn't even get the demolitionist. Then I raged when I thought lil' ol me with full cactus armor and 100 health (very impressive I know) could kill skeleton.

Clockwork assault Rifle is actually pretty good for early hardmode. Megashark definitely outclasses it though.

Oh yeah, I remember those first times when I was a tween. I remember when I used to rage at nighttime because the zombies kept on coming in, and rage at daytime because slimes dealt so much damage.

Good times.

Yea lmao

My little brother and I first played on Console, where we used a hill as a house. We were actually somewhat okay at it, and managed to beat the EoC, and we thought we best the game. Soon enough, we learned that wasn't the case, and now we play on Mobile and we have beaten the Moon Lord!
What I would give for my iPad to charge so I could play again...
