Generally speaking, no. Max Resolution is locked to your monitor.
There's some GPU's that support "virtual resolutions" but they tend to be high end graphics cards. Let me know what graphics card you have and I can tell you if your card supports a virtual resolution.
Most likely though you are going to be stuck with your current resolution.
