Anyways, here's the Savannah.)

Intro

The Savannah is a pre-hard mode biome that spawns when a world is created. It will usually be in the outer thirds of the world, however it can in the middle third as well.

Similar to a Sand Slime in attacks and sprite. Can spit dust, which gives the Impaired debuff in Expert Mode. Uses Dust Slime AI.

Charges at player for 5 seconds before stopping for 3 seconds. In Expert Mode, will leave behind a trail of dust that gives the Impaired debuff. Uses Ostrich AI. Will spawn as a Vile Ostrich, Bloody Ostrich, or Crystal Ostrich in Corrupt, Crimtane, or Hallowed savannahs, respectfully.

[no image] Ostrich Feather - 1/7 chance in normal or 1/5 in expert
[no image] Ostrich Egg - 1/150 chance in normal or 1/130 chance in expert


[no image] Cheetah

Speeds at the player at high speeds. Leaves behind trail of dust that gives the Impaired debuff. Uses Unicorn AI.

[no image] Cheetah Skin - 1-4 in normal or 2-7 in expert
[no image] Dusty Claw - 1/160 chance in normal or 1/110 in expert


[no image] Snake

Will be in a 'sleeping' state until in 6 blocks of it. After being approached, will follow the player and periodically bite it. Uses Snake AI.

Drops

[no image] Snake Venom - 1/4 chance in normal or 1/3 chance in expert
[no image] Dusty Claw - 1/160 chance in normal or 1/110 in expert


[no images] Hyena

Will curl itself into a ball and throw itself at the player three times before shielding itself, giving itself 5 more defense. Uses Hyena AI. Will spawn as a Dark Hyena in Corrupt or Crimtane Savannahs, or a Light Hyena in Hallowed Savannahs.

He who controls the evil, controls the savannah's skies...

Rostrich is a miniboss that spawns during the Sahara Skies event. Its attack pattern is like this:
-Rostrich will chase the player for a few seconds.
-Rostrich will then freeze and spit three rot balls, which inflict Venom.
-Rostrich will call in 2-5 ostriches to attack the player.
-Rostrich will kick up lots of dust in the player's direction, which gives the Impaired Debuff.
-The pattern repeats.

Termites are critters that spawn in the Savannah, by spawning on Dust Blocks or destroying Termite Mounds. Termites have no golden variant (rip).

-Hood: +13 defense, +15% movement speed, and +5% damage
-Robe: +17 defense, +90 mana, and +3 minions
-Pants: +12 defense, +10% melee attack speed, and +16% ranged critical strike chance
-Set Bonus: +20% knockback

[no images] Quest Fish

There are two quest fish exclusive to the Savannah: the Lionfish (pre-hard mode and hard mode) and Rostrich's Mackerel. Like all other quest fish, these can be turned in to the Angler if he requested them to get rewards.

Angler Quotes (relating to the quest fish)

Angler (for Lionfish) said:
Hey, you! Have you seen any lions with fins? Because I have! Somewhere in the savannah, there's one swimming around. I saw it myself! And I want it! Go catch it for me, because I don't wanna be mauled!
Angler (for Rostrich's Mackerel) said:
Just today, I was exploring the savannah when I saw a fish that looked like that giant ostrich, Rostrich! It's really really really rare, and I really really really want it now!

Seems like a good start, but alot more specificity is neeeed. Try to awnser these to help give a more complete idea:

1. How much space does the biome take up?
2. What is below it? An underground savanna or just stone caves?
3. What AIs do the mobs follow?
4. What are the stats of the mobs?
5. What are dust arrows?
6. What do the potions do and for how long?
7. It is mentioned the biome can be infected. What changes does this make?
8. What is the impaired debuff?
9. Sell values and rarities could also be included to go all out.
 
Seems like a good start, but alot more specificity is neeeed. Try to awnser these to help give a more complete idea:

4. What are the stats of the mobs?
5. What are dust arrows?
6. What do the potions do and for how long?
7. It is mentioned the biome can be infected. What changes does this make?
8. What is the impaired debuff?
9. Sell values and rarities could also be included to go all out.

3. Will add.
4. Will add.
5. Basically stronger arrows, I'll add info on them.
6. Will add.
7. Makes Corrupt/Crimtane/Hallowed savannahs, will add info.
8. Impairs vision (it's literally impaired), will add info.
9. I'll do that eventually, but not in the near future.

Overall, it's just the fact of adding things.

It was really uncool of you to say this.

This thread clearly has a lot more effort put into it than yours does. Considering that the savannah is a biome that exists in real life, you can’t claim that your thread is unique, either. Please remind yourself that no one wants to steal ideas from anyone, including you.

Try to increase the contrast of your sprites, and darken the outlines a bit more. Increase the saturation, too, so they don’t look so grey. The wood types currently in Terraria already cover the entire spectrum of brown, so I would try adding bolder tinges of orange/red to Manketti wood.

Elephant grass: missed pun opportunity. I would resprite it so it looks like an elephant’s trunk sticking out of the ground.

Ostrich: probably needs to be about double to triple its current size to be a convincing enemy.


Generally one large attraction of biome threads is the new equipment, so I look forward to when you add explanations to those.

Contrast + darkened outlines + saturation: Ok.
Manketti Wood: I already made sprites for a lot of Manketti items, can't change it now -_-
Elephant Grass: I based it off the actual plant, but maybe a tooltip pun instead ;)
Ostrich: I was using a small size, I can make it bigger.
Armor: They'll be added soon :)

(i understand that i'm not the one who made this thread but)

I think that DatBallistaBoi was the one who made the sprites
Though I was the one who did the starling sprite (but only the starling sprite)

Do you have some spare time (and are willing) to help me with sprites for one suggestion?
