Showcase [Showcase] 1.3 Frost Moon final wave record arena (9:42pm)

Hi guys, i'm new to this group. I made this arena for Frost/Pumpkin Moon in 1.3

The npc engine activates the crab statues at the maximum rate of 2 times per second.
The first 2 pressure plates hit by the bird toggle the actuators on the top 2 rows of blocks to let items drop into the hoik track, then the rest of the pressure plates toggle the hoik teeth to push the hearts along, at the end the bird is killed by spear trap and another spawned (there is definitely room for improvement for this mechanism but the current one works nicely). There is an even number of pressure plates so that with each cycle the actuators will start/finish with the same state.

The bottom right switch turns on/off the npc engine and the bottom left switch starts the hearts hoik mechanism. The bird mechanism can be turned off by killing the bird manually. The top two switches are for adjusting the hearts hoik if it ends out of phase when you kill the bird.

I made a few changes to the bird mechanism, the recording framerate couldn't quite catch all the hoik teeth actuations but you get the general idea.

*Note the Last Prism seems to turn itself off after 1 minute of continuous use

The timing on the bird engine seems to work out well for moving the loot (and hearts) quickly. Great design. :happy:
 
Have you considered putting spikes where you stand? That would limit the projectile damage (unless 1.3 has changed that; I play on PS3).

I think it did change with 1.3, but I'm on mobile so I'm not totally sure.

As of 1.3.x, spikes have their own invulnerability cooldown and no longer protects against mob damage. The devs did this in response to people using it to cheese the moon lord.
 
Does that go for projectiles too? Such as the Ice Queen's?

What a ball-ache. Could you rig up a standard dart trap to shoot you instead? Or have they fixed that too?
Maybe but I don't want to use any invulnerability exploits it feels like cheating to me, it makes it too easy. Obviously the devs don't like it either or they wouldn't have patched so many of them.

Seems like that might be tricky, didn't they slightly increase trap cool downs?
