- GENERAL IDEA -

The Sickness Biome is designed as a third evil biome for Terraria.
Like the Corruption and Crimson, the Sickness Biome will be one of the possible options when creating a world.
The main difference is that the Sickness Biome is designed to be much more difficult, offering more experienced players a new and challenging biome.

- BIOME CHARACTERISTICS -
  • Sticky Terrain: Similar to honey, it slows the player down. It can be countered with an item from this biome.
  • Putrid Water: Causes the "Sickness" debuff and is viscous like honey. Can be countered with an item.
  • Contaminated Air: Prevents the player from regenerating health. Can be neutralized with a specific item.
  • Early Expansion: The biome begins expanding from the beginning of the game, requiring containment measures before Hardmode.

- BIOME VISUAL & MUSIC -

I made this image with AI. I'm not good at making landscapes. However, I made some sprites for enemies.

I'm not a composer, I just made a small piece of the song in lmms studio and then used SUNO AI to extend the song.

- SICKNESS BIOME ENEMIES -

Pre-Hardmode Enemies
  • Skull Bacteria: Flying enemy. Splits in two when destroyed, and the split parts grow after 15 seconds. Attacks the player on contact. The larger version deals 30 damage, the smaller ones deal 15. Inflicts the "Sickness" debuff. The larger version has 80 HP, the smaller ones 30 HP.
On the left is the sprite I made, on the right is an AI-made image I based it on:
-
Skull Cell.png
Virus Skull 1.jpeg

  • Goo Creature: This enemy remains camouflaged, emerging from the ground when the player approaches. It can float in water, climb walls and ceilings, and can also shape itself to fit into one-block holes. Attacks on contact. Deals 30 damage and inflicts the "Sickness" debuff. Has 80 HP.
This one doesn't look quite like the picture, but I didn't want it to be so big. I also suck in pixel art.
-
Monster.png
Monter 1.jpeg

  • Skull Spider: Small and fast. Can run and jump. These creatures can appear when hitting trees in the biome or breaking pus sacs. They appear in groups of 3 to 5. Attacks on contact. Deals 10 damage and inflicts the "Sickness" debuff. Has 40 HP.
I think this sprite looks decent.

  • Sick Slime: There's not much to say. It's a slime from the Sickness Biome. It deals 30 damage and inflicts the "Sickness" debuff. It has 50 HP.
I didn't make a sprite or image for this one.
__________

Hardmode Enemies

  • Skull Virus: Hardmode version of Skull Bacteria. Deals 80 hit damage and 30 projectile damage. Inflicts the "Infected" debuff. Has 230 HP. Has a 2% chance to drop "Sick Immunity Charm".
I didn't make a sprite, but it would be something like this:
-
Virus Skull 2.jpeg

  • Infected Creature: Hardmode version of the Goo Creature. Fires projectiles and inflicts "Infected". Deals 100 hit damage and 30 projectile damage. Has 300 HP. Has a 2% chance to drop "Sick Immunity Charm".
This version could look more like the reference image of the Goo Creature.

Overall, I think this suggestion is really cool, however, I don't know if it feels super fitting for vanilla.
It's still a really creative idea overall but i think it would feel out of place in the base game.
It'd make a really cool mod though.

Oh don't you worry, the post limit is much much longer than this.

The Contagion from Avalon Mod

- SICKNESS BIOME RESOURCES -
  • Goo Block: Sticky block that makes up the surface of the biome.
Goo Block.png
  • Infected Wood: Wood from infected trees. The outside is dark green and the inside is viscous and yellowish.
  • Infected Stone: The Goo block in the underground layers is solid and very resistant.
  • Infected Ore: Mineral that allows you to create Infected Bars.
  • Infected Sand: This sand is not affected by gravity when it is in contact with another block. (Very interesting mechanics)
  • Infected Mud: Mud from the biome.
  • Pus Sack: It is the equivalent of pots for this biome.
  • Infected Core: Equivalent to the Orbs and Hearts of the Corruption and Crimson biomes. They are found inside the top columns of Goo Blocks.
