Mac Side mouse buttons not recognized

Hi, I've downloaded Terraria on my Mac recently and I have noticed that my middle mouse button and the additional side buttons my mouse has do not work with the game. When I try to assign actions to them, nothing shows up; it's like they don't exist... I pretty sure nothing is wrong with my mouse or my computer since these buttons work fine everywhere else.

I would like to know how to fix this if it's a bug because I am really sad that they can work with everything except my favourite game
