Sitting on chairs buffs your hp regen

First, i dont know if this is a bug so i'll post this here and apologize in advance if this turn out to be a non intended feature.
Sitting on a chair appears to buff your hp regen. I can't precise the exact amount because i'm not versed in testing things on Terraria, so i'm coming here to shed a light on this subject and hope that someone more apt will test this.

Your natural life regen increases the longer you avoid getting hit, it also speeds up when standing still. Could this potentially explain what you're seeing?

I thought it could be that too, but the momment i sat in the chair the hp regen speeds up. Also, the same thing seems to happen when you lie down in beds.
