I once previously posted a thread for sleeping, but this is entirely different.

In Terraria, it is possible to wander as a ghost. However, it is only possible to do so by dying with a hardcore character. I would like to change that, and here's how:

Sleeping:

Benefits:
  • When you right-click a bed, a dialogue box pops up that is something like this:
    • This is a bed! You can set your spawn point or sleep here.
    1. Set spawn
    2. Sleep
    3. Cancel
  • Players can sleep in beds and float outside their bodies.
  • Players may wake up manually after falling asleep by drifting across their own body.
  • Beds cannot be removed when a player is sleeping in it.
  • Sleeping for more than 4 minutes gives you a buff for 4-10 minutes (Based on how long you slept). This buff is similar to well-fed, but is called well-rested.
    • Well-Rested simply has double the values of well-fed. The reason for this is that it takes longer to get the buff, so it should be a bit better.
  • (Maybe) Players wandering as spirits can knock things off of tables.
  • (Maybe) by clicking on a nearby player, you can apply the debuff Haunted, which is -1% critical strike chance for 45 seconds.

Limitations:
  • Once asleep, you cannot manually wake up for two minutes.
  • After 10 minutes of sleeping, players will wake automatically.
  • You cannot sleep again for equal duration to how long you just slept.
    • Example: You slept for 5 1/2 minutes and woke up manually. You cannot sleep again for 5 1/2 minutes.
  • While sleeping, players are still susceptible to damage.
  • Taking damage while asleep will wake the sleeping player. Being woken like this will apply the groggy debuff.
    • The Groggy debuff has the same values as well-fed, but negative.
    • Groggy lasts five minutes, and is not negated by an ankh shield.
    • The Groggy debuff can be removed by 2 minutes of sleep or postponed 3 minutes with coffee.
  • Map data will not be recorded while floating as a spirit.
  • (Maybe) When an enemy player is on the screen, a large radius around that player is very blurry.
  • (Maybe) As a ghost, the world around you slowly changes hue in a color cycle effect. (Red slowly becomes yellow, and yellow becomes green, etc.)
You can get the Well-rested buff by using coffee.
  • Coffee:
    • Coffee bean
    • Mug
    • Bottled water
    • Requires Campfire
  • Using Coffee gives you Well-rested for 5 minutes, and then Groggy for 5 minutes.
  • Using coffee while groggy simply postpones the debuff for 3 minutes.
  • Coffee beans are sold by the travelling merchants pre-hardmode.
  • In hardmode, coffee beans grow in the jungle.

What do you think? How could this be a mor balanced and beneficial addition to the game?
