Portfolio/Multi-Topic Smoothing out progression: Weapon balancing, Hardmode ore balancing, Buff to base movement speed and also World generation options.

Base movement speed is awful. Making a new playthrough feels like the slowest thing ever at the start. God save you if you can't find a hermes boots early game.
i beat ps3 edition with out haing hermes boots. i looked for the damn boots for ages, but couldn't find them for my life. I went into other worlds, couldn't find them, eventually got diamond hook, and never got boots since. a shame that I couldn't find them, because I have everything else for frostsparks (when I said beat I mean post golem)

True, but there are a few advantages to it. 1: you don't need to spend precious bars on it, and 2: it is much bigger and easier to hit.
1: bars are fairly easy to come by, especially with how trivial spelunker potions are to obtain (reminder that every ingredient is highlighted by spelunker potion, it pays off itself)
2: the size difference is barely anything after the relatively recent ore sword buffs

It could be made where they have horrible accuracy, where instead of them firing in a straight line, they fire in a V Shape, making them only really good at close range.

Yeah, and it would have the same function.
Yeah, I think that would make them balanced, essentially turning your bows into shotguns, rewarding the player for getting up close to the enemies/bosses, which is currently not really encouraged for archers.

well, the bullets do the same thing, and it doesn't really slow your ranged weapons down to the speed of a shotgun.
It'd be great for Duke Fishron, as well, you usually are close to him in the fight. It's hard to outrun him.

It’s still basically double damage, and facetanking is already ridiculously overpowered, which is exactly what you would probably use these for. Spread doesn’t really work as a limiter on ranged weapons.

That's fair.
Maybe instead of firing twice, it can go through blocks?

it don't pierce do

That sounds like something Spectre ammo would do, but I guess it’s fine for cobalt to do it as well.
making destroyer cheese even easier
Half of the weapons on that tier can trivialize that fight by merely existing. At this point it’s not cheese, it’s just the pace of destroyer. (and people always wonder why I call that fight badly designed)

Sorry, I'm too lazy to read all of this, can someone resume this? I'm tired from work

Idea: Cobalt Arrows & Bullets. Their one gimmick is they fire 2 bullets/arrows at a time. This gives people reasons to mine cobalt.
also, heres a solution to this problem. make paladium bullets deal like 3 damage but lifesteal, and cobalt dealing same as silver.

That would be stupid. Why would a HM ore be the same as a Pre-HM one?

Lifesteal bullets, something i am an advocate for

: )
