Portfolio/Multi-Topic Solar Event

Most events in game are based in moons(blood moon, pumpkin moon, solar eclipse, frost moon, lunar event), so why not making a event based in the sun?(i did some greek mythology research :p)
Bosses are sun deities.
*The event has 5% chance to happen at the start of each day.

Aesthetic Features:
-All NPC's wear sunglasses.
-Sun gets bigger

Gameplay features:
-Rarely slimes start burning, dealing more damage but losing life.
-Sometimes a solar ray will fall like a fallen star dealing 9999 damage on hit(if it hits). Player don't die, instead screen goes white for 3 secs unless he's wearing sunglasses(can be in vanity). No drops from it.

Hyperion appears on background like a falling meteor and gets closer, when reaches you battle starts
STAGE 1: He keeps shooting 50 damage-sun beams at you and spawning Sun Priests.
STAGE 2: At 10000 HP, he teleports nowhere for 10 seconds and a flying eye that shots 75-damage sun beams at you(he is god of watchfullness too.)

I already hate the Probe chance to spawn.

If you could make Lunar Event styled event (which progressive and cool) that would be great !
Background changed to Sun start igniting flares and getting bigger and bigger, when it fully burned that boss spawned.

Consider the 0.1% those mobs need huge buffs.

Hum, wave-like? It's supposed to be bloodmoon like, but i may change that. Buffing them? Kay, i guess.
 
If a falling star hits the Eye of Cthulhu, it 1-hit-kills it! If it hits a player, I think it would kill him/her!

You know, EoC haves defense. Only in second stage it could THEORETICALLY happen

And player don't dies, he collects the star. Happened to me once.

It would kill enemies, therefore being helpful, and just annoying to players.

I did read your comments.
If it's that rare, why?
You see, fallen stars are rare.
They kill enemies on a hit.
And yet there is a why:
A star is falling from the space and hitting the enemy.

Same for solar flare, or do you think a giant flame going down a enemy wont kill them?
I just dont put to kill the player because imagine you fighting boss and then dying by random, you would surely rage.
 
What I suggest concerning this thread which has potential:
-Organise it with spoilers where you put things into categories, it's hard to read (such as: Mobs->{Prehardmode; Hardmode};Loot-;
-Get some sprites for your things. You may request sprites from someone or do them yourself. It's easier for people to see whaat you mean if you post images.

Calm down concerning this kind of comments, as you've already explained the purpose of the sun flares. It's your suggestion after all, and you've stated you want that as a hazard during the event.

Now, concerning the actual content: what if the solar flare was a polar opposite to the solar eclipse? Sun deities vs horror movie horrors? Which would give different kinds of loot except for the broken hero sword from the boss when post Plantera. Something as tough as this invasion sounds would more appropriately fit hardmode.

I understand, but why put it in if it just makes it easier? Rarity never justifies power.
Arkhalis is goddamn rare, but strong even in early to mid HM.

Also, fallen star reason.
