PC [Solved] Terraria:Error- System.InvalidOperationException

Terrarian
I already own this game over 3 years, but the first time I get this error.
My last play was October 2016. In February 2017, windows 7 is re-install ones in the same computer.
Today, I install terraria via steam, then start game on steam.
Terraria could normally load in to menu screen. Since it was a new install game, there was no worlds and players data.
Then I try to create a new player in-game. After i submit the new player name, I got a error massage and the game close.

A screenshot of error massage is enclosed.

Already make sure 4.6.1 .NET Framework is installed in this system.
Some screenshot of CPU-Z as system specifications is enclosed.
An windows 7 administrator user is login-ed to get enough permissions.

Well I solved by myself LOL
Closely look at the error message, I found that the error is cause by the windows platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms. I found the solution on the internet.

To disable FIPS, there is two ways.
For the first one, go to Control Panel > Administrative tools > Local Security Policy. The Group Policy dialog appears. Under the "Local Policies" heading, select "Security Options" and look for the entry, "System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing." If this entry is enabled, disable it.

But, Local Security Policy is not available in Home Premium. To solve this problem, we could disable the FLPS in regedit.

TO open the registry editor, click the Start menu and type regedit, then browse the following path in regedit.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\fipsalgorithmpolicy
Make sure this registry subkey is set to 0.

Heh, that was exactly what I was going to tell you to do, but you solved it while I was typing. ;)

Enjoy!

So I basically have the same problem. Since I can run the game, but whenever I want to save & exit, it just crashes. What am I supposed to do?

So basically, I can run the game. But if I go to the settings, and then press back. It will crash and give me this. Same goes for autosaving, whenever it autosaves, it just crashes and gives me that error.

Okay, that's a different issue, having to do with saving preferences.

Can you go to your Documents folder, and then under MyGames/Terraria find and delete the file called config.json? It won't affect your worlds and players if you have any, so don't worry about that.

Let me know if that works for you.

The problem is, if I delete that file, I cant even start Terraria anymore, I will get another error then.

Does the account Terraria is installed on have Administrator rights? It looks like something's up with your permissions.

I already read somewhere that you have to run it as Administrator. But I dont see that option on steam when I right click on it. So how do I run it as administrator on steam ?

Try running Steam as administrator, and if that doesn't work, Terraria (by default located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Terraria).

If that still doesn't work, you'll manually have to set your permissions. Right click your Terraria folder in My Games and click Properties. Then, under the Security tab (not sure if it's called that, I'm running my OS in Dutch so I'm translating on the go), you will want to select your account. If not all the boxes are ticked, click Edit and then do so manually.

Let me know if that works (and please quote or tag me so I get an alert ;) ).

Nee man, het werkt niet. Voeg me toe op discord als je het hebt. Fubuki#3800

Well, if even that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas, really. Not sure what else I can suggest.

Listen, I've tried to run it as administrator through:C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Terraria).
But it wouldnt let me start it up since its a steam game or something. Could you add me on something where I can screenshare on. Since I didnt understand the steam part, where I had to tick the boxes on.
